I've still got my launch day rig. 20GB is looking pretty sad these days, and I'm finally starting to see some of the game loading errors people have complained about, but really for the most part it's going pretty strong. For the price it would take to upgrade the hard drive on this thing, though, I'd be a good part of the way to buying one of these. I dunno, I try to avoid buying two of the same consoles in the same generation. I'll wait until this one dies properly or something, I guess.

This game. it happens to be the reason I bought a PS3, sight unseen. Anyone else hoping to get more info from Team Ico on this one? I was honestly bummed when visiting the Games page for it didn't get me a step closer to the "Boothe Babes" Achievement.

Adding Sanwa's to an SE stick is extremely easy, and turns it into an excellent stick (on par with the Hori RAP sticks, or the TE, if you don't mind the slightly smaller size). I built a custom stick that a friend borrowed, and subsequently broke (the case, not the parts); rather than build another (too busy), I got a good deal on an SE stick and swapped the parts in about 15 minutes. As long as you have a JLF with the right mounting bracket, and Snap-In's for buttons (OBSF-30's), you'll be good to go no problem.

As for Mington's problem, you can't just get an Oct gate and swap it in by default -- the stick in there is not a perfect replica of the Sanwa JLF series stick, just a close/cheap approximation. Unless you found someone who said they had an Oct gate that worked with this knock-off stick, it's no wonder you'd have trouble.

As to the OP, I think you'll be really happy with genuine Sanwa's -- the activate on the buttons is super nice and responsive; it might take a week to get used to, but once you do your play will improve from the fact that you barely have to touch them. And the stick (if you're used to a Square gate) should feel infinitely better than the POS in the original. Over all, an SE with Sanwa's is one of the best sticks on the market for a budget player. It's what I recommend to all my friends.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions (I love shop talk about fightsticks, if you can't tell :P).

Is it made of metal? 'Cause no one can destroy the metal.

Even if it isn't, I still want one. DO WANT.

I'm Game. For this Game. Does it run in MAME? If not, that's Lame. Now I'll go hit on a Dame. It's likely to result in more of the Same, as my tactics are relatively Tame. Which is a bit of a Shame. I suspect I'll never achieve significant Fame.

Apparently I become completely random when I don't sleep for two nights straight. And yet, I'm still above attempting to work in "came" into that.

... I'm going to take my ramblings back to gAIM... well, Pidgin... you know what I mean.
