Stadia stans are the absolute worst out there (ok maybe not the worst, all fanbases tend to be toxic). They made a poor choice of purchase and they see news stories such as this and the closure of internal development as signs of Google's commitment to the platform and that everything is going well instead of the reality that Stadia will likely be dead in a years time. They constantly go on about digital purchases only consoles and Steam but also seem to forget that those purchases are tied to local hardware so if you have those games installed, you can play them whereas with Stadia, once that service is gone, those games are too. The game selection is also poor as well as being expensive (games that are often old and on sale for $10 or less tend to be full price on Stadia).

Prepare yourself for: disappointment

It's going to be a fuck ton of Smash and as we all know, even Smash fans are disappointed by Smash. 50 minutes of some new character no one except for the most die hard Fire Emblem fans know of.

It's Halo's 20th anniversary next year, they're going to go big.

I hope more. I've mostly played CoD this past year since picking it up in season 3 and Animal Crossing had me hooked at the start of Lockdown for a solid month but not many games really grabbed me but I appreciate smaller games just so I can feel some sense that I actually beat something.

'12 minutes' looks legit amazing.I've been excited for that game for some time. 'It Takes Two' which was shown off during tonights game awards looks like a really fun co-op game and it looks gorgeous. I really just like the way it looks. There was also a bunch of other announcements for new games but 2 games caught my eye and they're both about road trips. One is 'Open Roads' from FullBright which had a really cool style of merging 3D with 2D hand drawn characters and the other is 'Road 96' that's a procedurally generated road trip adventure about fleeing from a tyrannical regime. There was also a bunch of others that looked great but honestly if things go as planned with these releases, 2021 is going to be nuts.

For those curious about how the game performs on the previous gen. It isn't great and as John mentioned a few times, the performance is reminiscent of the end of the 360/PS3 era. Patches may fix things but be aware that the game is extremely blurry running at 720p and the temporal AA actually makes it appear even blurrier all the while running at less than 30fps and can drop as low as 15fps (maybe lower) in heavy scenes. The PS4 Pro fairs slightly better with a higher resolution and frame rate but the quality of assets is exactly the same. Tom mentioned that the base PS4 version also crashed for him many times and the only way to resolve the issue was by performing a full reboot of the PS4.

@cikame: Pianists as far as I'm aware don't have huge caveats around that title. I hear that word and think someone who plays the piano at a high or professional level. Gamer is multifaceted. It can range from someone whose hobby involves playing games, to someone whose entire identity revolves around being into video games or in extreme cases, someone who is so into a video game, they will wish death upon those that made it.

I was hyped for this game when it was announced in 2013 and even despite the glowing reviews, there's so much shit around this game it's very much turned me off of playing it. I try to put my money into companies that I feel should be rewarded for their work and not huge devs that abuse their staff. I'm still pretty pissed that Ubisoft seemed to have gotten away with all of their shit just by releasing a bunch of games at once to cancel out all of the bad press when they've done nothing to deserve it.

People are going to buy whatever they want regardless of their morals just because they want their entertainment but that's not how I roll. Maybe when I was a teenager I probably would've brushed most if not all of this stuff off as it doesn't affect me and even now it doesn't but these are peoples lives and they're working in shitty environments and we just say "If you don't like it, go work somewhere else" rather than expecting better of an employer.
