@fisk0: Dan and Vinny didn't cover the added games. There is a button in the main menu that goes into even more versions of Contra like Probotector NES and Contra Hard Corps JP.
I dream of the day Legend of Mana gets ported to all modern platforms. That is a game I would rebuy 20 times.
It is great finally playing through Trials of Mana. I do think Secret of Mana is better now though. There are some really weird design choices with Trials. Still loving it though.
This made me want to go to E3. Or at least I wish PAX West had room for weird stuff. (maybe it will when the Washington State Convention Center expansion finishes.)
Been playing this game again. I still think this game is great. Also, my opinion on Sephiroth as a villain has improved. I wonder if it was Kingdom Hearts that actually ruined that opinion. I don't know.
Anyway. This seems to be the PC version's translation. I don't know. But it seems more in line with what I remember than the version on the PS1 classic.
I remember my cousins had this game first and I thought Midgar was really really long cause every time I visited my cousins they would still be in Midgar. It took 5 hours on my current play-through with me messing around.
When I finally got the game (which I think we sold our Sega CD for?), I got it for PC and my Gateway 2000 from 1995 could barely run the game. It chugged. We could play up to the cutscene in Rockettown before the game would hard crash. It wasn't until my next computer that I was able to play through the game.
Decades ago, when this game first came out. My brother said the game Ballz 3D mooned us when I was looking away. I always thought he was BSing. It is good to know after all these years that he was telling the truth.
In one of my playthroughs of CIV VI. Another civilization was constantly spawning death robots and sending them at me. Turns out mechs are weak to planes.
