My Pixar and Dreamworks Infographic

Originally posted on Screened.com, but I thought I could share it with the Bombers as well.

Started working on this before Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2 were released (Panda 2 may have just been released) and then just forgot about it until yesterday. So that's the reason those two movies aren't featured in here. Experimented with a ton of different color pallets and ended up with this one. Found a similar color pallet on the interwebs which I tweaked a bunch until I thought I'd found something that was relatively easy on the eyes.

Hopefully the graphic speaks for itself, if not, then I have failed. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

It's interesting to see how the two companies compare when it comes to how well their movies perform at the box office. Thanks for posting this.

Surprised that Shrek 3 did better than Ratatouille, and Madagascar 2 did better than Wall-E

I thought Wall·e (yeah I looked for that dot) did better, one of my favourites.

Especially when you consider how shitty Shrek 3 and Madagascar 2 were and how good/great Ratatouille and Wall-E were respectively.

I've been a huge Pixar fan for a long time now and wanted to see how their movies compare to their biggest competitor. Ofcourse I knew that the Pixar movies would win critically, but I wasn't so sure about the gross and budget and stuff. I also think numbers and graphs are interesting, so, there you go! :)

Looking nice. If you want some critique - maybe use the same font/style for everything. Also, perhaps the budget colour could be a lighter shade of the companies' colour (so, for Pixar; orange and then a lighter orange). Maybe lighten up the red as well, at least to me, it seems a bit dark.

@Twilight: Well you did an awesome job. It was pretty odd, I just finished watching 'A Pixar Story' on netflix, the documentry about pixar, and I came on to visit your thread first. If you have never seen the doc I highly recommend it. Any huge Pixar fan will have a great time watching it.

Wow, that's really interesting. Dreamworks makes more movies and spends more, but per capita Pixar wins.

I like Pixar and I don't really like DreamWorks. In my opinion DreamWorks copies Pixar's current/last theme (Ants, Fish, Monsters, Aliens). Though it seems DreamWorks is getting more original now and Pixar is doing more sequels... times are changing. Anyway I really like your infographic, do you do design to put food on the table or is this a hobby?Doesn't look amateur anyway :)
