Sea of thieves...what if we champion fetch quests and build a whole game around them.
What is the point of emergent gameplay if it is build around a really simple system. This means that there isnt any depth to the game or anything to learn in the long run. It is just the same stuff over and over for several levels.
This rare guy sounds really like he is believing his own pr about their game being so different from any other game.
I know that Brad thinks that zelda is the second coming of gaming atm but I for one think that the main story in Mass effect: Andromeda is actually pretty good. The flow of quests in the game is also pretty well done even if the famous facial animations are not always up to AAA standards.
The game is also pretty massive. It took me 87 hours on very hard to finish that game. I do have a few nitpicks about the game. The main nitpick atm are the unskippaple cutscenes when scanning planets. It takes about 20+ seconds to scan each planet and despite what Brad said in the previous podcast there are actually tens or even hundreds of planets to scan.
I think Nintendo just cant get away from its traditional thinking when it comes to releasing new consoles.
The press conference itself was typical Nintendo. A lot of talking heads with very little actual gameplay shown. Some of the developers like suda51 were dragged onto the stage just to say that they think that Switch is a great console.
As many others have said the price of the console is too much and the console is even more expensive here in eu (about 345 euros or so). Also looking at the pretty empty launch schedule the switch users will have a lot of months where almost nothing seems to come out (at least from Nintendo). Nintendo has also been pretty great at burning the bridges with a lot of third party developers which means that they will have a very limited support from third party developers.
I think Nintendo is in for a rough awakening when it comes to the sales of switch. They even priced the accessories way too high.
For some reason I have had to disable my no script addon in order to being able to start the videos. While I understand that preventing the use of adblock is a reasonable thing to require of us I dont think that having to turn scripts on globally is a good idea.
Fortunately I can turn the noscript addon back again after starting the podcast. Though I wish that giant bomb would go back to videos where I dont have to take extra steps in regards to the noscripts addon. That addon is a lifesaver in regards to various websites since they cant just ran various scripts withouth me having a say in it.
This is obivously a Jeff Gerstmann who hasnt played a single mario party game yet....if only younger Jeff would have known what horrors the future will bring.
The thing is...does this game have the longevity that fps based multiplayers must have in order to be successfull. Jeff gave titanfall 1 4 stars when it came out and after a couple of weeks the servers were much emptier than they were at the beginning especially on pc.
I think the trouble is that reviewers usually dont hang around the multiplayer games after they have reviewed the game but move on to other games. That is how they generally only experience the highs of the games instead of the lows. Does titanfall 2 multiplayer have enough of a hook to keep you playing after the 2 first weeks or so?
Hmm...dunno how Will Smith can defeat an alien menace since his character is dead in the new independence day movie. Unless Giant Bomb staff saw some extended footage from the film.
