@TaliciaDragonsong: I would also like to believe that happy/positive people are actually having to much fun to spend time venting on the interwebs. It's just hard to keep the faith sometimes looking at what people choose to post.
@JasonR86: I also came in here to say Darkstar One. There is a fair amount of combat, but as long as you simply follow the story it's really simple stuff.
I believe the one you are talking about is just to the right of where you come down on the elevator of sorts. Off to the right, there will be a crumbling platform. About midway through you will see a key floating below. Let the platform crumble, and fall to get the key. At that point you will be warped back to a safe spot by a teleporter. Hope that's the one you're taking about.
As someone else who just lurks around and posts every now and then, I understand where you're coming from. But if you want to "be part of the community" you just kind of have to drown that stupid crap out. As others have said above me, that is simply something that comes with being part of the internet. There are people here who will give you thoughtful, reasoned responses; and there are stupid trolls who have fallen prey to the "Internet Fuckwad Theory." But all in all, I think the ratio here is way better than most sites out there. What I still think is the best and worst thing about the internet is that everyone gets to have their voice heard. Just learn who's voices you want to actually listen to.
