Damn good action RPG. An unsung instant classic.
SNES (FF3) version.
Gamecube/N64 versions.
1 of the BEST games for the Nintendo DS.
PC version.
N64 version.
Gamecube version. But I first played RE3 on the Sega Dreamcast. Good times, baby.
Genisis version. I own the cart, but not the console.
SNES version. Also available for Wii, via Virtual Console.
SNES version.
Gamecube version.
Gamecube version.
Gamecube version. GC version rocks the hardest, thanks to Link.
Gamecube version. GC version features Goro & Shao Kahn, BEST version of MK Deception.
PS1 version. BEST 3D fighting game for PS1!
PS1 version. One of the BEST stealth games ever made!
1 of the BEST 2D fighting games for the DS. I'm not a fan of the Anime series, so the awesomeness of Bleach DS shocked me.
SNES version. And I still have the Genisis cartridge, but no Genisis.
N64 version.
N64 version.
SNES/GBA versions.
SNES version.
SNES version. 1 of the BEST side-scrolling beat'em-ups of the 16-Bit era. Not as fast as Final Fight, but more diverse in its attacks and combos.
SNES version. Damn good side-scrolling shooter in ANY era. If you own a Wii, get this puppy via the Virtual Console. It's well worth it.
1 of THE reasons to own a SNES!
SNES version. 1 of the BEST 2D platformers ever.
Sega Genisis version. I still own the cart, but not the console. Wa...
I own the GBA version. 1 of the best 2D fighters for a handheld.
1 of the best reasons to own a DS, and 1 of the BEST racers on any gaming device.
Yes, I now OWN Jet Force Gemini. And it's well worth it! RARE at their finest.
I own the downloaded PC version of Unreal 2. Not bad. It's story and levels aren't as good as the Time Splitters games, but not bad.
The downloaded PC version of Unreal Gold. The levels are actually more fun than those in Unreal 2, as is the story.
I own the downloaded PC version of UT2004. A damn fine tournament based FPS. Worth every penny, and will run on moderately powered PCs.
The downloaded PC version of Arcanum. Awesome RPG with very LOW system requirements.
One of the BEST 3D racers for N64.
I own the Gamecube version, and it rocks. XG3: Extreme G Racing gets right what XG2 got wrong. XG3 is the appropriate decendant to XG (N64).
SNES version. One of the few "licensed" games of the 16-Bit era (SNES/Genisis) that was actually good. Maximum carnage managed to pull off a very comic booky vibe. I dig it.
The customization and charming story are as addictive as the action. Definately one of the best reasons to own a GBA or DSlite.
Just like its predecessor, SNSS2 has addictive customization and action and a charming story. A good reason to own a GBA or DSlite.
An awesome RTS on an awesome handheld. Anyone who thinks RTSs can't work on a handheld hasn't played the Advance Wars games.
One of the best games for the GBA/DSlite and proof that an RTS can work on a handheld.
Probably the best Castlevania for the GBA and heir to SotN's throne. Another awesome platformer with RPG elements for an awesome handheld.
A pretty good game for the GBA. Carries on the tradition of SotN.
Pretty good RPG that makes good use of Nintendo's character roster. Lotsa comedy as well.
A fun collection of mini games. One of the best reasons to own a GBA/DSlite.
I finally own this fighting game gem. And it's every bit worth it.
One of the games that keeps my DSlite pumping.
Another FREE & open-source goodie. Along with Open Arena, Nexuiz is a FPS that makes great use of the Quake3 engine. Also, you can download FREE user created Quake3 maps and use them in Nexuiz and Open Arena. Too sweet!
One of the first, and best, 3rd person "cyber-punk" shooters ever made. Burning Force flat out rocks.
The GBA version.
Yes, I own Front Mission Gun Hazard via emu (zsnes). It actually edges out Cybernator. A feat I hadn't thought possible. Least of all from, RPG maker, Square.
MGS is pretty awesome. Even moreso when considering the tech limitations of the GBC. I rock it via emu (vba).
MMZ4 is another example of a great series being built on in some great ways. I rock it via vba emu. Tough as nails, but a blast to play.
MM&B originally only had a Japanese release. I'm damn glad they brought it stateside for the GBA. I rock it via vba emu.
One of THE reasons to own a DS.
I very fondly remember finishing Soul Reaver for PS1 and Soul Reaver 2 for PS2. Now I own the dowanloadable PC versions, via GOG ($6 each). Love it.
I very fondly remember finishing Soul Reaver for PS1 and Soul Reaver 2 for PS2. Now I own the dowanloadable PC versions, via GOG ($6 each). Love it.
Another PC goodie I own via download. GOG, Steam and Gamersgate all carry Deus Ex. Awesome game from a time when FPSes were much more creative and experimental.
Crytek did a great job with Far Cry. Familiar enough to pick up and play, different enough to stand out. The PC downloadable version is on GOG, Steam and Gamersgate. I got it from GOG, $10.
I bought GGX2 Reload for PC from GOG for only $6. $6 very well spent. Definately proves 2D fighters can rock on PC with gamepad support.
The controls AUTOMATICALLY map to your USB gamepad.
Slick, anime-ish visual style.
Modest hardware requirements: 700MHz CPU, 256MB RAM, 64MB GPU.
Craziest cast of fighters ever, with crazy background stories and over-the-top moves.
Pretty good action-based, dungeon crawler, JRPG.
Modest hardware requirements.
Endearing characters.
Moving story.
Pick-up-and-play accessibility.
Gamepad support.
If Resident Evil and Final Fantasy Tactics had a baby, it'd be Gorky17 -also titled "odi-um". It's a mix of turn-based strategy and survival morror. $6 on GOG.
Heir to Symphony of the Night's throne and, in some ways, actually manages to edge it out. Castlevania PoR keeps my DS rockin'.
Probably the best of the Mega Man Zero series (MMZ 1 thru 4). Blends platforming, combat and RPG very effectively. Tough as nails, but worth owning.
MMZ 1 thru 4, unlockables and a "beginner" version of MMZ4. Every bit worth owning. MMZ2 is probably the best in the series.
PC version, via Gamersgate, DRM-free. Love this game. Kinda Zelda-ish action RPG, with a good story, loads of customization, slick visual style and a catchy narator.
PC version, via GOG, DRM-free. Damn good platformer with a decent story. A 6th gen classic.
PC version, via GOG, DRM-free. Damn good dungeun crawler RPG, with modest hardware requirements, loads of replay value, cool WoW-ish visual style and lotsa user-created mods.
PC version, via Steam. One of my all-time fav RPGs. I'm not a Star Wars fan, but BioWare made great use of its universe. Loads of replay value, modest hardware requirements, great gameplay, open-ended plots, great graphics and great story.
PC version, via Steam. Damn good first/third person action game with a decent story. One of the best games to come out of the Star Wars universe.
PC version, via Steam. Damn good action RPG. Games like the Ys series are why I love JRPGs. Fantastic gameplay, good story, cool visual style, modest hardware requirements, works great with a USB gamepad.
PC game, via GOG, DRM-free. Amazing RPG with extremely open-ended gameplay and story. Modest hardware requirements. Another BioWare classic.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. Damn good conclusion to one of the best stories I've ever come across.
PC version via GOG,DRM-free. Pretty good retro platformer. Ain't gonna beat Gunstar Heroes anytime soon, but not bad.
PC version via GOG,DRM-free. A more combat focused entry in the LoK series, every bit as good as its predecessors. Just good for different reasons.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. Best in the PP series. Best balance of combat, platforming and puzzle solving. Also maps instantly to a USB gamepad featuring dual analog sticks. Worth owning.
PC version via Steam. Best in the Jedi Knight series. The action picks up much earlier in the game than in Jedi Outcast and your character is fully customizable: sex, species, appearance...
PC version via Steam. Damn good action-RPG/plaformer. Instantly maps to USB gamepad (like Ys OiF), modest hardware requirements, great action, good story and presentation. Worth owning.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. GTAIII before GTAIII. One of the 5th (PS1/N64/Saturn era) gen games that introduced "sandbox" (open-world) gameplay.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. A diamond in the rough. This action-turn-based mix RPG was well ahead ofits time. Amazing story, atmosphere, gameplay, visual style (even given its age). Fortunately, Anachronox has been resurrected on GOG and fully patched. Every bit orth owning.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. Damngod action-RPG with a cool visualstyle and decent story. Worth owning.
PC game, via Wildtangent. Pretty good dungeon-crawler RPG. Replay value out the wazoo. A noticable precursor to the much venerated Torhlight (which is among my favs list).
PC version via Steam. Still have the old disc copy laying around somewhere. Damn good open-world, action RPG. Probably one of the best in gaming history.
PC GOTY version via Steam. One of THE reasons to own a fairly modern PC. Oblivion enhances on everything that made Morrowind great, without the steep hardware requirements of Skyrim.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. Love it. Captures alotta 8bit NES era classics in one frenetic game. Also automaps to your USB gamepad (Logitech Dual Action/360 controller).
PC version via Gamersgate (DRM-free). Not the best GG game, but not bad either. Definately worth owning at $5-$6 (Gamersgate, GOG).
PC version via Steam. Stil have the old PS2 disc laying aound somewhere. Damn good introduction to open-world/sandbox gameplay.
PC version via GOG, DRM-free. A pretty good stealth game with a weird mix of retro 1980s style and gruesome violence. It's like an upbeat slasher flick in 8bit graphics.
PC version via Gamersgate, DRM-free. Pretty good in both single player campaign and multiplayer. Clever AI, decent graphics (given RF's age), good sci-fi distopian story. On Windows 7, choose "Run as administrator" to get RF to save data.
PC version via Gamersgate, DRM-free. Great FPS, both in campaign and multiplayer. Works good with Windows 7. Vista requires a patch for DirectX 10 graphics cards, but the patch can be found all over the internet with instructions.
