GODDAMMIT New Vegas won the last Communities' Choice I really wanted to get Alan Wa - wait, what? Saint's Row the Third with all DLC for $13? Oh Steam, I could never stay mad at you <3

HOLY FUCK. I thought it was just the game for 12 bucks and that the collection would be more.

Good lord, and I was about to go to bed too. That's probably the one deal from the entire sale that's too good to pass up.

Totally. I had a mild interest in Saint's Row 3, and for $10, I couldn't pass. (Not sure why the AUS price is less than the US price - it's usually the other way around!)

@ShiftyMagician: Oh, that's interesting. The Steam page just mentioned the application, and the Indie Game: The Movie website just mentioned the application has DRM, so I figured the movie was only accessible through the application. Still, got it for the same price in the end, so all ends well.

Still, it's a bit weird - why have a DRM application when the movie file itself is completely DRM-free?

I went to buy Indie Game: The Movie, as it's $5 during the sale, but balked when I realised I wouldn't be able to easily watch it on my TV - I don't mind Steam DRM for games, but for this it's very limiting.

However, I discovered you can buy it for the same price on their website - DRM free. Score!

Just when I think I'm out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN
Just when I think I'm out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN

Added these to my overall haul today...

  • Stacking
  • Evochron Mercernary (impulse "I'm sad the sale is over oooooo look space sim!" buy)

Still holding out for Q.U.B.E. and Swords and Sworcery EP on flash sales, but I'm not counting on it...

I'm starting to think this sale is over for me, as the flash sales and community choices have been repeating themselves for a while.

Here's what I got this sale:

  • The Binding of Isaac
  • Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box
  • Dear Esther
  • Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
  • Fallout 3 GOTY
  • Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate
  • Legend of Grimrock
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Prince of Persia
  • Civilization III
  • Trine 2

Some of these are rebuys so I've got them on PC (I never use my PS3 anymore), and I've already got Fallout 3 on PC but $5 to get all the DLC was too good! :) Overall, I'm stoked - that haul will keep me busy for ages...

The only sale I missed out on was Q.U.B.E - it went on 75% off flash sale when I was at work - would love to pick that up for under $5!

Why on earth would any developer want to release their game on a system that has been described as "hacking-friendly".

"Hack" isn't an inherently negative term in the software development community. In the context of the Ouya, I assumed what they meant was that developer's will have a lot of control over the device, and won't be locked down to a small subset of "allowed" features like other consoles.

It was probably a poor choice of words for the Kickstater though, as people mostly think "hack" == "compromised security".

HOLY SHIT, Dave Navarro needs to lay off the botox.

As someone who can already play guitar, I like the idea but the main problem I see (besides its ability to accurately pick up the notes) is that you are still required to hit the notes EXACTLY when the game tells you to. Sounds obvious, but the real joy of playing is giving the music some room to breathe - a bit of push and pull, some flex - which is something I'm sure the game won't be able to provide.

Still, I can imagine it'll be fun for those starting out.

Knowing nothing about Soul Calibur, it's clear I'm not the intended audience for this game: shiny looking fighter version of a JRPG, complete with shitty voice overs and shittier music? Jesus Rollerblading Christ, count me out.

Carmageddon was awesome back in the day, so I hope this comes out on PSN so I can actually play it.
