So, being pretty out of the loop lately, I had the impression that Google Stadia was kind of the Netflix of video games. But I can't image paying a subscription for Netflix and then having to pay for every individual thing I want to watch on the service on top. So yes, hearing games are full price on Stadia and purchase is compulsory did shock me.
Complain about how Google misses the obvious 'outside the box', but then inexplicably overlook the blindingly obvious 'Look is Quick' for the nonsensical 'Quick is Look' :D
I feel like this game would be so much better off if it wasn't gun-focused. More InFamous-style magic abilities and OTT elemental attacks might've given it more of an identity. As it is, it looks mechanically sound, but entirely uninspiring.
Also the world seems utterly lifeless, just like Jeff mentions.
The #1 game is actually where Jason completed the smoking arc and successfully quit. In context of the wider world, 2018's video games don't come close. Congratulations, duder.
I just finished Donut County, and feel like I've been held in a warm, soft hug for a few hours. Not too much to add to Jeff's summary--it's a charming, chill gem of a game, and absolutely worth grabbing in the sales.
Decided this is a really good list by my ratio of 'I've played this and like it a lot' to 'Oh this game! I really want to play it!' to 'eh, not really fussed about this.'
