Jeff remains one of, if not THE, only personality I can watch play videogames solo with any consistency.
I can't put my finger on exactly WHY, other than the fact that he never sounds like he's trying to have a conversation with no one, but it's more like a lecture from an interesting professor of videogame history.
Sounds like? I cannot wait for the day Jeff is unironically awarded an honorary degree for his services to video games.
@brad Apologies if I missed it: is there a 'hardcore' mode a la RDR1? It looks a little too easy to eschew strategy in favour of a run 'n' gun approach to combat.
so 3 Quick Looks? Careful or this will start to look like ClickBait Video filler. "5 things you didn't know about RDR2", "Horse poop in RDR2 explained", "2 things you should know before jumping out of windows in RDR2"
I read the first paragraph and then... the review ended. What's the point? Especially from a guy who has zero journalistic credentials--I might just as well read the video games section shoehorned into the anaemic tech section of my local newspaper.
Providing complimentary audio is about as useful as those 'how to do [x]' videos on YouTube, which spend ten minutes getting to the point of something that could've been written down and consumed in a tenth of the time.
i.e. Would I rather spend five minutes reading a well-crafted review, or an hour watching the staff ramble on about the game's features? The former every time. More informal debate already has a venue: the Bombcast. The site is evidently comfortable being 100% shits and giggles now, and that's fine, but it's progressively less and less what I'm looking for without the journalistic integrity to back it up.
