Thanks for everything, guys. For being there back in my first year of university in 2009-10, when I remember buying cheese-layered salads from my local garage, returning to my bedroom in our shared student house, flopping into my beanbag, putting my feet up on my bed and munching away watching you play Set Phasers to Fun on my laptop.

From the Bombcast I remember Jeff introducing both Vinny and Brad to the site to now, you've been a welcome constant in my life: the familiar faces and comforting online presence I came to depend upon for 13 years of relaxation, laughter, and good times. Everything changes eventually, and I wish you all the best in whatever it is you do next.

Really, thank you doesn't come close. For the entertainment and all your hard work and dedication. I'll miss you all dearly. I never thought a website about video games could end up having such a huge imprint on my life, but I'm so glad it did.

Upgraded my PC recently, so I'm good. Can't justify purchasing a closed system in addition to it given the lack of console exclusives, but I appreciate not everyone is as fortunate to be in the same position.

I can corroborate this to some extent. I recall looking at online UK games retailers offering pre-orders and new releases for a fraction of the RRP––often somewhere in the region of £34.99-37.99 ($45-49) around that length of time ago (ShopTo used to offer low prices). I don't play on consoles, nor buy AAA games at release any longer, but it astounds me when I come across listings and see consistent £50-55 prices across the board. With microtransactions commonplace in many major games nowadays, it's not difficult to fathom overall costs to the consumer being the region of £90-100 ($155-130) for 'complete' experiences.

360 for me. I think I got less than two years out of that console before it broke on me, despite the care I used to handle my gaming systems with. Wouldn't touch the One with a bargepole.

Waypoint seemed like such a career side-step for Austin, in the same way Kotaku (and subsequently Waypoint) did for Klepek. Both brilliant presences on GB, who could have diversified the site's output and given it the journalistic credibility that Abby and Ben don't bring to the table. Hate to think of their positions being in jeopardy, but can't say I'm surprised about the lack of longevity given the approach WP adopted.
