I think the mention of The Last Night, out of all the shitheads (current or previous) this year is kinda silly, given that his previous stuff wasn't that bad, and "this guy said some fucked up stuff on the internet in the past" is something that's basically universal at this point (and will only get worse as time goes on). If what he had said was more extreme (I.E. actually participating in abuse) or more recent it would make more sense, but examples like the NeoGaf stuff (where the issue and fallout were more extreme) would've made much more sense to mention.
Also, I'm curious if they regret not having Destiny 2 as a runner up given all that's gone down since this was recorded.
@brad: The streaming stuff from Atlus was largely unacted on, but it didn't stop them doing this, which I probably would have included:
You might have heard earlier today that we [Atlus] issued a DMCA takedown notice involving emulation developer group RPCS3 and their Patreon page. Yes, it’s true.
Was the bigger issue with Atlus IMO. Also I'm pretty sure there were some streamers who were given strikes (I seem to remember DSP going through that).
I thought early access games weren't being considered? Or was that just for overall game of the year.
BTW I played like no multiplayer games this year so the only ones I can really think of are Everybody's Golf, Cuphead, Knack 2, and Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash.
