NXT was amazing this week, AEW was pretty meh.
Io vs Candice and the Balor promo were easily the best things all night, with the Women's Tag Team title match and Riddle & Lee vs ReDRagon very close up (along with the angles that came after each setting up wargames). Reed vs Thorne was good but nothing must see (although part of that's just me being salty Shane lost tbh), and Grimes vs Bate was good for what it was, but was more about setting up Damo vs Dunne.
I liked the Shida match, not nearly as much as Io vs Candice, but it was easily my favorite match of the night. The Rick & Morty and Undertale stuff was a complete turn off for me, and especially the video about New Japan (I could KINDA get it if it was for a big PPV match, but for a random midcard 6 man?) especially, it comes off as so low rent. I know that a lot of this is Kenny doing stuff he wants to do, but god they need someone to tell him no, he's one of their biggest stars and he's acting like he's in DDT again. Hangman was acceptable but boring as always. The limo stuff with Cody got me in my "god he's triple H but worse" mood, but I have to admit I really liked the contract signing. The Moxley promo was meh in terms of content but really good in terms of delivery. Was not very high on the tag title match, the match was fine, but was probably the bare minimum I'd expect given the workers in it. SCU as your first tag champs really rubs me the wrong way, but to a certain extent I'm happy with it if it means we can get the Lucha Bros in singles instead of as a tag team, due to them being both better off as singles, and their clear inability (or lack of effort) to do an American style tag match.
