@rickyyo: Yay,thank you! A 1080 would really bolster our numbers. Now we will have all 3 Nvidia cards running.

@hobbz: My CPU was maxing out when set to medium and the 1060 was dropping below 90% usage. I had the same thing happen with the 7970 but only very rarely.

@flashflood_29: It must be a multithreading issue because my i5-2500k has never had that issue. I'm sure that tip will be useful to others though.Another one I can provide is that with a significantly powerful GPU it my be beneficial to tunr off the CPU entirely. My 1060 wasn't running at peak efficiency when my CPU was working on a unit because the CPU wasn't able to both feed the GPU data and do its own work. Obviously YMMV but GPU only works best for me now .

@lanechanger: Welcome! That should still be a pretty good earner and I look forward to seeing how it compares.

Going Nvidia made a huge difference, I should be pulling 3-4 times as many points a day now. My desktop also runs much smoother with F@H running. I'm curious to see what happens to my points when I allow it to just run without shutting it off for games.

@hobbz: Indeed, this is exciting. We should make good progress beyond 500 as well. Thanks for bringing F@H back to GB's attention.

Last time I checked the light mode shuts off the GPU entirely. They were unable to find a method of throttling the GPU without creating serious problems for the user so it's all or nothing.

I just leave mine running on medium all the time since the CPU only accounts for at most 5 percent of the 150k I make on average per day. It does have a slight effect on desktop and video playback performance but I'm willing to live with it. I only shut it off when running intensive or time-sensitive software. I think most people run it your way though @hobbz.

A few more of those nVidia cards sure wouldn't hurt! It looks like we have a real shot at cracking 500 soon. I really wish that there was a cheap option for keeping old video cards running for F@H but even the used options I have seen are either too expensive, don't have a PCI-e slot or are far too large and loud to just leave sitting around.

Hey guys, I just noticed that there were more active members on the team! It looks our productivity has doubled in the past week, @hobbz you are going to step all over the lead I've been carving out. I just ordered a GTX 1060 to replace my now slightly glitchy 7970. That should give us a nice bump as well. I can't compete with that 1080 though, I give it at most 2 months before you overtake me. That stat tracking tool is extremely useful.

Thank you everybody for chipping in, I'm really happy to have active members in the team again!
