I haven't spoken to my mum in 7 years since my father died. She obsessed about how much money he left (not much) and accused me of trying to steal it (she and my father had separated 27 years earlier but never divorced). She did all this before we even buried him and was more interested in the money than grieving for him which was the part I found disgusting. Since I walked away I've never been happier. :)

As for your situation, she is probably trying to do the best for you but in a really poor way. There is always a difficult phase when the child is growing up and wants more independence and the parent want to keep control. You guys will sort it out but for now just try to understand that she thinks she is doing the right thing for you and is scared of losing you. In short, she's being a mum.

A lot of people bought this game on Blizzard's rep and their love of D2. I personally think Blizzard have gotten shittier & shittier since WoW and are now out-right exploitative. They always charge a ton for their games, they demand control over everything, they have abysmal customer support and an "it's your fault" attitude if your account gets hacked or you get exploited and now they make inferior games. They also just harvest old IPs. I personally am done with them and it's nice to see that a lot of people feel the same way.

Warcraft 2 is arguably my favourite game of all time but it appears the people that made that classic are long, long gone.

Shame.

Pick a partner that's not an arsehole? Good advice Phil. We'll all make sure we don't partner with you then.

I just heard about this while listening to the podcast. So sorry for Patrick's loss. To happen at such a young age & weeks before Patrick's wedding is truly heartbreaking. It will add such a poignancy to the big occasion but I expect, in a strange way, will make it even more special.

My father died of a sudden heart attack as well while sleeping in his chair. Funnily enough I'd asked him at another relative's funeral a few months previously how he'd like to go and he said he wanted to fall asleep and never wake up. It's the piece of comfort that I always have and I'm sure Patrick will feel the same about his father dying in his favourite place in the world.

It's very enjoyable and has a lot of replayability if it holds your interest but it never really grabbed me like Diablo 2 did. I think that's because it doesn't have the skill tree which meant you could play the same character class in a ton of different ways. It's still beautifully polished and I would recommend you try it out at least but for me it's not the masterpiece that a lot of people seem to think it is.

Also I don't have a very good spec PC and it ran absolutely fine and looked great.

My current issue is that my authenticator has decided to become un-synced to my account. :(

With this & Prey 2 both being delayed to 2013 and no news on Last Guardian there are currently no games that are coming out in the second half of 2012 that I think of as now as 'must buy'. I'm looking forward to a couple like Borderlands 2 but there is nothing I'm particularly excited about. Anyone else got a game that they think is going to be particularly awesome that I might have forgotten about?

Hi,

Does anyone know how many copies of this got sold? I'm fascinated to know after listening to Jaffe on the E3 2011 podcast talking about how even Sony PR had no idea how well this game was going to do. I see it consistently in the top 10 at games retailers so assume it's sales can't be terrible but it is a quiet period for games so that might not mean much.

Add to that Jaffe almost dismissing it before it came out with his "no DLC" statement and the issues that are happening with the online in Europe and I wonder if it was a success or failure for Jaffe and EA.

I can't find any information on the net & haven't seen Sony say anything publicly.
