This was such a good episode. Fanbyte is such a good site full of cool ass people. Niki has been playing Myst/Riven on stream and it's been so damn good.
They also run a show on Fridays called Couch Surf that is just literally UPF. The site feels very similar to early days GB in all the right ways.
I think I'm gonna hold off on trying to get one until I see more games. I know it's not the same thing, but I'm saving for the Analogue Pocket and can't justify buying this for just $40 less. Yet.
I haven't finished watching this but I saw in the Pen to Pixels review that you can side load other games people make for this and that has me super intrigued too. Begin the countdown for someone getting it to run Doom.
Good read, per uje. I ended up not beating this when I played it at launch just because everything felt too easy. I played for about an hour and a half and was just kind of breezing through it, so reading that you had some "clever" moments makes me think I should replay it now that it's on gamepass. Or maybe I can convince my partner to play it since she likes puzzle platformers, then I can just watch.
I feel like Jeff has been talking about wanting to discuss "what purpose reviews serve" for the last couple years on the bombcast, and it lends itself perfectly for this review.
I also appreciate that the final paragraph is still just a tl;dr of his thoughts on the game.
Super jazzed about everything shown here. The year long delay seems pretty worth it so far and I can't wait to jump into this.
I was most curious as to how 343i was going to incentivize you to clear outposts and the like, and better versions of the weapons seems like a great move. It would be nice if you could see what the reward is before doing it, but I have 30 minutes left in the video so maybe that is a thing they do.
@francium34: clearly off topic, but man do I miss the sports quick looks. Feel like Bizness Dave & Jan could have some fun in Madden.
I really like Tales of Arise though. It is something that I have no problem recommending to other jrpg fans and telling people who are not fans of jrpgs that they probably won't like this one either. Reminds me of DQ11 in that regards.
