It's just a shame that the combat in the game, especially the Marvel 2.0 characters, is pretty lackluster. The Star Wars 3.0 characters are the ones with the new/fun combat mechanics, but even then they're not suited for pvp combat. And the fact that this play set is for Marvel it means no Star Wars characters.

What a weird thing.

I really like the idea of Disney Infinity but the actual game is just so janky and rough.Trying to fight other players is only going to exacerbate the issues. It feels a lot like playing an old Disney licensed game from the PS2 era. I imagine the series will die long before they get a chance to make the core game better.

Skylanders might be less ambitious in terms of features and gameplay, but those games are hella polished in comparison.

Well, obviously the pre-existing Marvel guys from 2.0 don't have the improved combat systems they implemented in 3.0, but you never know what might happen...

I would be pretty surprised if the new Marvel characters being released don't have the upgraded fighting system, and who knows, maybe they'll do something to boost the old guys too; it's not impossible...

I don't personally find 3.0 to be janky in the least though. I think the retail games for 3 play and feel fantastic (& Toy Box stuff is ok, but the load times and general un-polished nature of it drives me away almost immediately.)

My only complaints are that there just isnt enough content, and what's there just doesn't play to its strengths. The light-saber combat is fantastic, and yet, there is so little of it that I constantly found myself starting pointless fights with NPC Stormtroopers wandering around, just so I could do some fighting. Going forward I hope they realize that in the combat-focused playsets, they should really do less fetch quests and more fights, and it would be a monstrous improvement if they just released the shackles on what characters can play in which sets. That's just so arbitrary and absurdly contrary to what the game is trying to sell itself as (IE, a Toy Box where you can do whatever you want)...
