@spunkyhepanda: I don't know personally as I have not played either game but I think it would affect quite a few things if they did.
Like you have an item that lets you turn "human" and get full health. You loose world tendency if you die in human form.
Afaik the only reward in helping other players killing a boss is to regain human form.
You have to be in human form to summon or be invaded.
I am sure there are other things aswell I don't know.
But my point is that there are alot of things that are tied to the soul/human forms that would be either obsolete or not balanced the way it was intended if you made them equal.
But it might be a worthwhile change, I don't know. Personally I am excited to play the game when I get a PS5 and I would prefer that it stayed true to the original.
@rorie: Did you try playing with mouse and keyboard? I played the game on PS4 and liked it but I prefer M&K in games where I have to aim a reticle. So I would probably play it again if it works well with M&K.
I am very excited for this game. The replayablity factor doesn't matter to much for me. While I do replay games, it is the first playthrough that matters to me.
However the smaller scope with more reactivity is something I can enjoy alot and often much more than the bigger scope sandbox games.
Are we counting Slay the Spire as 2018? It was in early-access starting last year, I think, and I'm not sure it has actually officially "released" yet. I put it and Dead Cells on my list, even with the whole early-access shenanigans. Release dates are weird.
I had the same issue, but according to their steampage it is still in early access, so I assume it is a 2017 game until they fully release it.
Am about 40 hours in. I really like the first 30 hours. I like the turnbased combat and the game is alot more puzzle filled than I thought and I really like that.
The last 10 hours have been a little less interesting because the progression system is not as interesting anymore. I feel like I have unlocked the skills I wanted too, so now I just invest in passive stat upgrades and I also have more money than I know what to do with.
But overall I have really enjoyed this game even if I am not sure how much more I will play of it.
