First game I beat for each console I owned

List items

  • Atari 2600: Technically my mom owned the Atari 2600 but this is the first game I can remember beating.

  • NES: One night at a sleepover a friend and I stayed up all night to beat Rampage despite having a soccer game the following morning. Not exactly a hard game as you have unlimited lives and can easily be beaten as long as you have a lot of time to kill.

  • Game Boy: So much easier and way less bullshit than the original NES game.

  • Sega Genesis: One of my all-time favorite Disney platformers.

  • PS1: Not as good as the sequel but I liked playing as the monster truck because its special was just running over other cars.

  • N64: The first genuinely good wrestling game I remember playing. Plus I enjoyed it way more than WM2000 and No Mercy. Probably because it had Raven, Kanyon, DDP, and Ultimo Dragon while those WWF games didn't.

  • Game Boy Color: I don't know if the Game Boy Color counts as a separate system but this game was an exclusive for the GBC so I think it counts. Get rid of the stupid colored box and conveyor belt puzzle thingee and you have a very cool blend of the original NES Metal Gear graphics with Metal Gear Solid mechanics.

  • PS2: The first time you knock a guy in the air and keep them their with bullets you feel like a total badass.

  • SNES: I didn't have an SNES growing up but I found a good deal on one at a flea market along with a bunch of great games I missed out on as a Sega kid. This is up there as one of the greatest puzzle games ever made.

  • Xbox: Pretty good for a licensed game based on an extremely nerdy TV show based on a bad movie.

  • GBA: The GBA SP is still one of the coolest handheld console designs and this was the first time I played one of the greatest Zelda games ever made.

  • Gamecube: The only reason I bought a Gamecube because like an idiot I thought this was going to always be a console exclusive. FYI I don't regret owning a GCN because there were a lot of amazing games.

  • Xbox 360: Never read the comic this is based on but if it's half as decent as the game I might have to check it out.

  • Wii: Neat idea to turn Paper Mario into an action/RPG but I prefer Thousand Year Door so much more.

  • Nintendo DS: Justifies the touchscreen gimmick of the DS in a way that reminds me of how Ape Escape sold me on the original DualShock controller.

  • PS3: I wonder if anyone has done the math on how many people Nathan Drake has killed across the entire series.

  • 3DS: One of the better 3DS launch games. Not a bad little turn based strategy game that's only problem is that it is a little too easy.

  • PS4: What better way to break in a new console than by shooting Nazis repeatedly in the face.

  • Nintendo Switch: It's so satisfying to return to your ship with several dozen moons and watching them tally up.
