I'm not sure what that game politics dude is, but I'm pretty sure all he was doing was putting words that sounded fancy in any old order and regarding it as a valid statement.
I'm really not a fan of the bombcast split up, but well I want my two hours all in one and also just want to support the dudes who give me so much entertainment.
" @nrain: 4 did do a much better job of easing newcomers in. The interface of 3 is pretty bland but it was much more simple then 4. I remember when 4 came out to bring up your advisers you had to click on tiny little circles in the upper right corner with illustrations on them, and it just looked and worked terrible. Just because 4 had better tutorials doesn't mean it's a better game, though. "
You may be right about the last bit, I'm not as deep into it as you are I started on Civ 3 but just couldn't get into it, then got hooked on Civ 4 so I have no recollection on the history of balance of units or what's different in building production, tech tree etc. But all I can say is that Civ 3 just wouldn't allow me to get in and Civ 4 has made me fall in love with it and so to me it is the better game.
