I agree, she didnt seem ready for this at all. Her arguments were the same for every game, without her understanding that «i really like it, i think its a good game» isnt an argument at all(neither is repeating she thinks cuphead should be higher up an estimated 4000times), and not how you convince people to see your side of things. It also get really tedious, her just repeating the same 4 ‘arguments’ over and over. She also used one bad argument against one game, then tried pushing others forward, even though they had the same issues she just critiqed other games for having, or made shit up like saying DD brings a ton of new things to the VM genere after already having said she didnt play VNs and didnt know. She did that more than once with DD, which is just... I get she likes it and wanted it included, but come the fuck on - dont be dishonest! Her groaning when others disagreed with her was just rude and childish. She also complained about «her choises» always being cut, without understanding that a) she’s the only one who played most of them, and b) small games like localhost, which i played and liked, just isnt enough. I finished that thing in 33mins, and found it cool, but flawed.
Its a kinda rough situation she was put in, and I really dont get why she wasnt included in small doses like Jan. I think that would have worked a lot better for both her and us, because she was, at times, really difficult to listen to.

I really think they should be a little shrewder with their selection process, cause DD in every category just doesnt make sense. When Abbys arguments was «i played a lot of this game, this game is very good, I liked this game a lot», which was her arguments for all the games she wanted on the lists, it just doesnt cut it. Characters being charming and PC is good and all, but not nearly enough to make a game one of the years best.
I personally doesnt think «this game is utopian and makes me feel good» is enough either, and i feel like it got on the best games list purely on most of the duders getting tired of the rather tedious arguments and just saying «okey, fine». Jeff said early on that he really didnt like that game, yet he suddenly wants it on? Not buying it, im sure he just wanted to finish the podcast up.
This is kind of an Invisible Inc situation, but I do feel like Austin made waaaay better points to why he wanted that game included. I played it prior to the podcast tho, and really disliked it - so his arguments fell really flat to me, and i remember Brad getting annoyed with the discussion and telling him it didnt make sense to include a game one person really liked, but the others didnt and i totally agree.
Even Dan tried making that point this year, and its kinda insane when Rykert is the one being logical, but this was the GB top 10, which now includes a game most of them either didnt play, or downright disliked and thats just dumb.
Still, I enjoyed the podcasts a whole lot, but like I said earlier, including a game like DD in a year filled with games like RE7, Nioh, Prey, Yakuza etc is just nonrelateble to me in a big way, and kinda soured the whole point of making a GB top 10.
