@whitegreyblack: I've seen this happen on a machine that has a Windows Update waiting (even if it's an optional update)... the bigger updates sometimes sit there for weeks before they auto apply.
I had an AST 386 (with a Turbo button) that I did a card swap in (I don't recall if it was a video or sound card). Booted it up with the case cover off to make sure all was well and it was. Screwed on cover. No power. Took off cover. Perfect. Cover on. No.
Went over the whole case with a multimeter to try to find if it was a shorting issue. Found nothing.
Finally after much annoying twiddling I found that the top right screw on the back of the case if installed was the culprit. No binding. No electrical weirdness that I could find.
I use a Razer Blackwidow Chroma (with all the lighting turned off).
Love the clicky keys they don't feel exactly like a Selectric/original IBM PC keyboard (or the Northgate Omnikey which gave up the ghost after 35 years and my wife still uses) but it feels good to type on.
Is there any way to prevent changing to the YouTube player? I keep getting switched to it and I much prefer the GB player (I seem to be the only one who never has trouble with it). I can switch back by firing up a premium video and then changing options and switching them back to my real preferences but that only seems to be sticky for a week or two.
Oh, weird. When scrubbing the jog bar only the thumbnail shows.
Don't see an option to turn off autoplay of next episode, that's important to have. Also if autoplay is turned on it would be really nice if the next video plays in the same way that the previous one was playing (embiggened, full screen, what have you).
When I login it drops me back to the home page rather than the page I was on when I hit login.
Also, there isn't a link to the game wiki page from a video page (a way that I use on the current site to check for any other videos related to that game that I may have missed). That would be how I'd go from the RDR2 quick look to Arthur Morgan, Bane of the West video... or I would, but the only things tied to the RDR2 page right now are podcast episodes... So that's a problem too.
It must be just me... no one else has mentioned it feeling weird that Oldest to Newest feels backwards on the carousel... I feel like the newest video should be to the left getting older as you go right... but if newest on the right moving older to the left is the way all the cool kids do it nowadays I can adapt.
Okay, after some messing about I'm back to the GB video player... It's not helpful to have YouTube videos autoplay and then when paused not have the overlay come up....
Also, I run CTRL+ssed a couple of times (bad eyes, bigger text better) and I'm having some trouble mousing down onto drop down menus (specifically the options under the user icon)... if I set it back to default zoom it works fine, but when zoomed it is very inconsistent.
Echo the finding the water cutoff - there is also usually one near where the water enters the house as well as the cutoff at the street. While you're at it, find the gas cutoff (if you have gas service) as well.
One of the most useful things I made was a map of all the electrical outlets, fixtures, hardwired things in the house and what fuse/breaker they are associated with becuase, at some point of another, someone is going to plug the toaster oven and microwave into the same circuit and try to run them both at once...
Brick (or other similar materials) have a far different heating/cooling cycle than wooden houses. Ambient external temperatures will affect the inside temp between 4 and 6 hours later for brick vs. wood.
