That's great news. I am so pumped to be able to finally play Monster hunter on a real controller. I played tri on wii mote, 3 ultimate on the wii u tablet thing and the 3ds ones on the small ass 3ds. I always wanted to play a monster hunter on an ergonomically satisfying controller and soon I will.

I know I could have gotten the pro controller for some of them but I don't like spending a bunch of money on optional peripherals.

I think that the situation is portrayed relatively realistically. Remember that this guy is a Celebrity and, more importantly, a local sports hero. If there's one thing that is certain especially in western countries, communities go ape shit over their local sports teams.

Just look at the Bill Cosby thing. He was a serial rapist for decades and everyone in that community knew it and it wasn't until another comedian called him out that the truth came out to the mainstream.

Basically what I'm saying is Hannibal Buress is a Phantom Thief.

Sorry, bad joke, but I had to.

I'm in. Just don't fall flat on your face like Battleborn. Different developer I know, but I see similarities in those games and has me a tad nervous. Still Volition seems to know how to push the envelope without making it too dumb.

Face/Off is incredibly stupid. The concept is stupid, the action is stupid and the acting is stupid. I really enjoy Face/Off.

What I like about Face/Off is that for as stupid as it is it never gets me to eye roll and yell "oh c'mon!" like in a Michael Bay, Paul WS Anderson, or Roland Emmerich movie.

I'm just happy to have an outwardly atheistic protagonist in some form of media. I rarely see that unless they are meant to find religion as part of their story arc.

While she comes off as a bit condescending, I kind of enjoy her little quips when someone says something along the lines of "thank god for this or that" and she just flatly says, "umm, no I'm the one out there risking my neck, not god."

As much nostalgia as I have for the first movie and how good I remember it being, I don't think the concept is as mind blowing and deep as we all thought it was back then.

As much as it pains me to say it but it's just another action movie wrapped around another messiah character, who by the end of the series literally deus ex machina's his way to victory.

I think the whole being annihilated or enslaved by machines storyline so prevalent in pop culture through the 80's and 90's was based on a fear of electronics taking over our lives and us becoming so dependant on technology. Now I feel science fiction has moved on to ideas of machines/robots/AI assimilating into society as they become so advanced that they are no longer distinguishable from actual humans. Like the movie Ex Machina.

But what do I know I'm just some idiot on the internet. It's probably going to be remade at some point. They remade the Beauty and the Beast and based on the trailer it seems to be a shot for shot remake. It's such a cynical cash grab with no artistic purpose other than to say, "but it's live action now!" Sure, awesome, I'll get right on seeing Beauty and the Beast: Now with less colour and less expressive characters edition.

Haha, oh man, it seems weird to think of all the Zelda killers, Halo killers, and WoW killers. I'm glad we left that whole "killer" buzzword behind. At least I think we have, I haven't heard of any games being coined as "killers" lately. These days franchises tend to kill themselves.

...Is Stardew Valley a Harvest Moon killer?

I saw La La Land tonight.

I loved it. The music and choreography were great and the story was good though the "musical" kind of stops half way through to give way to the story. I guess they couldn't figure out how to tie the music and the story in the latter half or perhaps it was a design choice to convey the dreamy hopefulness of the first half and the crushing realities that fill the back half of the movie. I don't know, but I found it to be very satisfying as a movie maybe a little less satisfying as a musical.

So I guess I'll give it 5/5 as a movie and 4/5 as a musical.

Just as a warning to anyone who was crazy enough to click on a thread marked spoilers but didn't see the movie, ending spoilers incoming:

I really liked the movie but I found it horribly depressing. The main theme of the movie was hope but I just felt depressed as innocent people were slaughtered the whole movie and the heroes are people who have lost everything and feel the only thing left for them is to die for their cause. On top of all that they all die in the end. I think the most tragic part is that in the end Jyn and Andor seem to find a reason to live on but by then it's too late and all they can do is hold hands as the fire consumes them. I understand it is meant to be wrapped up in the original trilogy but due to that this movie doesn't give us the satisfaction that the heroes sacrifice was meaningful. It does serve to remind us that pretty much anyone not in the Skywalker sphere of influence is just cannon fodder in the Star Wars. I guess I'm used to Star Wars being a fantasy adventure movie where when heroes die it's in a grand sacrifice to save the lives of the ones they love. I wasn't ready for the "Wars" part of Star Wars where sometimes success means you don't live to fight another day.

A lot of the character stuff is pretty funny. The story was okay I guess, though I much prefer the ancient inter-dimensional god stuff from the original. The cgi was really the wrong tone entirely. All the bright neon colours made me have Batman Forever flashbacks. The originals ghost effects looked otherworldly and kinda spooky. This one looked like a "spooky" fun house ride.

Kate McKinnon was my favourite part of the movie. She completely stole the show I really loved the character she was awesome. The rest of the cast was perfectly fine, not great, just fine. Chris Hemsworth was pretty funny even though his entire character was cartoonishly dumb. He was so dumb it was borderline handicapped but it kinda worked.

I think overall the good outweighed the bad so it's alright. Mostly inoffensive. I'd give it a 3/5 if using the Giant Bomb star scale.

Want to hear a running joke in the movie Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to stop listening to loud noises he covers his eyes.

He did it once to establish that he thinks that covering his eyes prevents him from hearing, then the punchline comes, like, 15 seconds later when he hears a loud noise and covers his eyes. Without the first bit to establish his thought process the audience might not have put together that he was trying to dampen the loud sound. It was kind of a one two punch of a joke. I dunno I thought it was pretty funny. :/
