"The thing is, all of the games are in one franchise. Excitebike and Excite are the same franchise, just two different names for it. Metal Gear and Metal Gear Acid, on the other hand, are two "sub-franchises," like Mario and Mario RPG."
Excite covers games like Excitetruck and Excitebot while Excitebike covers Excitebike 64, vs. Excitebike, BS Excitebike, etc. It's similar to how Rainbow Six covers a whole series while Rainbow Six Vegas covers only three specific games."
Hmm. I think they can both stay. I feel like one can be considered the "main" series and the other can be considered a "sub" series. An example I can think of right now is the Metal Gear franchise page and the Metal Gear Ac!d franchise page.
Yep I got mine a few days before the US launch (living near NOA's HQ has its benefits) and it still works just fine. I probably will get a DSi though because the touch screen on my original is kind of scratched.
The only difference I see between Monster Capturing (didn't make this page btw) and Gotta catch 'em all is that the former is specific to creatures but the latter includes items, characters, etc. The two even have the same image. I like the name "Monster Capturing" better but Gotta catch 'em all has a better description.
It's been like this since the original Fallout as an homage to the Mad Max films. Another example is the leather jacket in the first Fallout looks just like Mad Max's. Or the sawed off shotgun. I mean just compare these two photos.
There have always been all sorts of cultural references in the Fallout series.
