Glad to see there's yet another episode where Dan leads Drew astray due to straight up bad info. It's almost comical at this point. I'm just gonna say it. I think MGScanlon V is bad and I wish you'd do a demo derby every week instead or something. Or bring in someone who actually appears to have played this game instead of Dan - he says he's played it but I don't fucking believe him because he knows literally nothing about this game. Which is fine if Drew wasn't constantly falling back on his "advice".
Drew not using the cover system is going to bite him in the ass sooner or later.
Will be very curious to see how Drew adapts when helmets and body armor starts being more common. Assuming he adapts.
Adapts? haha, not likely. If he's proven anything over this entire series it's that he's incapable of remembering more than like 3 things in each given game and repeating them ad nauseum. In this game, it's Reflex Mode > Fulton > Box.
Okay yeah Drew really doesn't give a shit about learning anything in this game. Turns off the tapes immediately, still runs around broad daylight without crouch walking. If that's how he wants to play, fine I guess? Whatever.
Also Dan is shockingly ignorant of the game's systems considering his time spent in the game. Alert state is triggered if you don't disable the enemy who spotted you before Reflex mode ends. That's all there is to it. Reinforcements only come in if a guard actually radios CP specifically asking for reinforcements.
Dan's "advice" continues to annoy me. "I'm gonna let you play however you want Drew!" "DREW DO THE SLAM IT'S WAY BETTER" "DREW GET THE RIOT SMG IT'S WAY BETTER"
Drew should play however he wants and not be afraid to restart from a checkpoint or whatever if he feels he's fucked up. It's a marathon, not a race, ESPECIALLY with MGS5. There's gonna be menu stuff. There's gonna be long-ass missions. There's gonna be Side Ops. Chill. Take your time. Relax. Experiment.
