They have lives to lead? Vinny would have been the one to dive in but he has a kid and thus has ascended to a higher plane of existence.

Their jobs entail playing games, creating content, writing and doing videos, so yes, it's their job is to play popular things like this. Sure they have lives, but they also have a job. Personally I don't know why they haven't put a video out for it, but I'd guess they are assuming the people playing that game will get this regardless.

What do you expect them to cover? I'm not hating on WoW (I still play occasionally), but MoP is still WoW. It just has a different continent and new quests. There's nothing new enough to show that would really be worth it. At this point, people know whether they want to play WoW, so there actually isn't much reason to cover it, no matter how popular it is.

That's exactly what I said in the next sentence.

And you have two and a half other sentences making it sound like it's unreasonable of them, regardless.

@CL60: I don't want to step on your toes, but you should call. It might seem reasonable that so many other people would certainly call, but they might be thinking the same thing as you. That's one of the primary reasons why crime goes un-reported. It's important to be pro-active about this stuff.

Good, he was a bastard worthy of no praise.

Wait, you sure you're talking about Paterno? Paterno was the much-beloved, elderly coach. Not Sandusky, the convicted serial child molester.

I have a feeling most people don't see or care to acknowledge the difference. The demonizing is working wonders isn't it?

Effectively enabling someone to rape children is every bit as bad as actually raping them. The difference is fairly minimal, frankly.

Having knowledge and not stopping a rape isn't the same as raping. Both are terrible. One is worse. One directly hurts a person. The other does so indirectly. This discussion is also not really the point of the thread.

You're right, they're not the same, but being in a position of being able to stop a rape and then not doing so should be seen as negatively as it has. He may not have been raping them himself, but he could have stopped it, meaning that he was equally responsible when he - and others - actively covered it up. Moreover, if this isn't the point of the thread, then maybe don't bring it up and get so defensive about it.

@Otzlowe: I fought with my parents, but in the end I accepted their rules because it was easier to agree and do as I was told than make things worse for myself.

And to answer your question, yes actually, I have had an abusive boyfriend. Well, fiance actually. Two and half years of hell.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm being subjective because if my mom had the money to pay my university fees, I would worship the ground she walks on for doing something so amazing for me.

I won't disagree that it's a really nice thing, but I've always been of the mind that your family should get away with less and not more, because they're your family and they should be the ones making the most strides to get along with you and vice versa. If they're going to pay for your education it should be because they love you and want you to succeed and not because they want you to obey them. No matter the purchase, if it's predicated on the desire of gaining subservience from someone else, it's going to breed resentment. (Especially considering that - of all things that could or should come from the heart - a desire to educate and see your children succeed should be pretty high up that list)

Not to say that parents should enslave themselves to horrible children either, but there's just a distinct difference between providing for your children and holding your power over their heads.

Then the OP should do the fucking dishes, which is several magnitudes easier than paying for one's college tuition. Regardless of who is actually at fault in the relationship, it is pretty obvious he himself doesn't really care about his mom either.

Was I making that point, brah? In fact, I clearly made the opposite point about a total of two posts ago. You're admitting right now that you don't have the facts either, but you're still making your own conclusion and picking a side.

Buuuuuuut let's ignore that it was never really dishes vs. college tuition until after the fact, y'know. (Let's also ignore the fact that that is, as I just stated, a bullshit excuse for motivation. Or we could just read the first two sentences.)

Thread full of strangers calls OP a cunt for a paragraph that basically reads as, "My mom and I don't get along and we had a disagreement."

You people blow my goddamn mind.

I read it as 'I don't do anything in the house and told my mom to shut up even though the woman feeds me, keeps me under her roof and is paying for me to go to university, what a bitch.'

Have you ever had a fight with your parents? Were you once young? They usually go like this. This is pretty much par for the course, regardless of the quality of the people involved.

Moreover, a person can feed you, spend money on you and still be a horrible person. Ever had an abusive boyfriend?

My point being: We don't know that his mom is a bitch any more than you actually know that he's a shit, so you may as well save yourself the time and effort and not get into a huff about it.

Post Script: Shitty parenting is what causes shitty behavior from children. If she kicks him out of the house for not doing chores, it's no fucking surprise that he doesn't jump to her beck and call. C'mon people. (Then again, I'm aware that GiantBomb's standards for "good parenting" are actually heinously flawed).

@jakob187: If that many games have been ruined by patches (all of which I disagree with you on), I politely suggest that it may have more to do with your perception of the game and dislike of change as opposed to any objectively bad changes.

I get that it's hard to have a game change in a way that is less gratifying for you, but I often find that rolling with those punches leads to unexpected fun and a deeper appreciation of other aspects of the game.
