Minecraft film 'set to hit silver screen'

A film adaptation of the hugely popular block-building game Minecraft is possible soon.

Markus Persson is the Minecraft creator. He revealed this week to Warner Brothers that he was talking with him about the project.
Persson claimed that he disclosed the information to stop someone else trying to leak information about it.
Movie news site Deadline reported that one of the producers for the Lego Movie is in charge of the project.
Warner was planning to turn a "live action" version of the game into a film, said Deadline.
The film is still in the early stages of production, as Warner just recently acquired the rights that Minecraft's iconic blocks, characters, and monsters.
This news comes just two weeks after Mojang, Minecraft creator took action to close a Kickstarter project that sought to raise funds for a film about the game.

Hollywood has a long history of struggling to adapt best-selling games to film. MINECRAFT Many projects never reach the planning stage.
A movie based on the science-fictional Halo universe was in development for nine year, but filming is still not starting despite several scripts being created.
Similar films based on Bioshock and Gears of War have been discussed, but no film has yet started shooting.
World of Warcraft is a game that is being made into a movie. Filming began in January with Duncan Jones, a British director. The film is set to be released in early 2016.
