Never really cared about dante as a character so I don't really mind his re-design. I will say I liked his design in DMC 3. The right amount of goofiness and style.
Over the Ubisoft forums, the devs are promising almost all the gadgets and stealth elements from Chaos Theory will be back in some form. While I was mildly disappointed with Conviction's direction, I really liked the smoothness and the sense of movement and traversal it had. Combined that with Chaos Theory and a more open-ended level design then we'll probably get a really great Splinter Cell game. I sure hope so...
While Hitman, at least Blood Money, does give enough information to plan out your hits, I still find myself doing exploration/suicide runs just to see how the various mechanics and AIs react. I'll do at least 1 or 2 exploration runs before my Silent Assassin runs. To me, Hitman are about trial-and-error and in a weird way I love the series for this reason.
I hated almost every fucking character who barked orders at you over the radio in Crysis 2. "Hey Nomad, Hurry Up! What's taking so long?!" While you are being shot by the PMCs, in the middle of goddamn alien invasion. Also, take a drink every time a character says "Time is running out!" and "Hurry Up!". I guarantee you'll pass out by the second level. Fuck those guys.
Hargreave had the occasional good lines, so I'll give the game that.
