I mean, there's a reason everyone thinks it will be GotY. It's legitimately great and innovative. It would be a weirdly mainstream pick for GB, maybe they swerve on us somehow, but I just don't see another great contender this year.

This year was such a garbage mess, and AC happened at just the right time to be a nice bright spot when stuff was getting dark.

the year Spider-Man was 7, Hitman 2 was 8. Fuser is the Hitman 2 of 2020 because it's also a good source of content.

I feel like there's not a lot of games people will go to bat hard for this year. Stuff that you'd expect would have made big impacts (Spelunky 2, DOOM, maybe TLOU?) just didn't hit that hard. THPS is the kind of thing people can just generally agree on.
They made a good Tony Hawk again, that deserves to be recognized.

I wrote a bunch of words about how this spot would be Genshin Impact, but now I'm changing it on the morning deliberations begin. My Genshin pick was partially based on Jan pushing for it, but I think he's going to put his energy toward 13 Sentinels instead.
Now that he got Vinny to play it, it seems viable in the same way Genshin seemed viable because Jeff was into it too.
I have no interest in it, but people who like this game seem to really like this game... so sure, put it on the list.
