My dad used to whoop me at Primal Rage on Sega... nowadays I pop in a modern fighting game like Soul Calibur or SFIV every once in a while, but he's gotten... slow. I tried to play Halo with him once or twice but he absolutely can't handle dual-analog.
@blazerx9x: As others have said, definitely play the first one. The sooner you do, the more you'll like it, as the graphics age just a little bit and will only look comparatively worse with time.
I think the second one sucked, but based on how much you like the first, you may want to play it too.
"Kind of surprised with all the naysayers already complaining about everything, though. Oh well - leave it up to the snobby Internet community to shit on anything that doesn't fit their exact desires. "
I'm not trying to naysay. But for those who weren't really into Bioshock to begin with, or those like me who liked it the first time through but have no inclination to go back, this announcement really doesn't live up to the hype Irrational has been generating.
The way Ken Levine teased the teaser of the teaser the other day, you'd think Irrational had actually developed a Moonbase or something.
" Yeah, and I can be an insufferable douchebag on someone's forum topic which is nothing but spam. Stop wasting our time with one-sentence opinions. "
So far your the only one wasting people time with douchebaggery. Grow up and have some respect for other peoples opinions. Now for the topic at hand; I don't know how I feel. After making it clear that they had no interest in making Bioshock 2 they turn around and make...... Bioshock 3? Alright so it's called Bioshock Infinite, but still, really? I just don't know. I'm not gonna crap on it when I know so little about it but I can't help but feel a little let down. "
I agree. I am definitely disappointed by this announcement, especially considering the (what I feel is) unwarranted amount of hype they've built.
However, it is true we know nothing about the game. Maybe the "Infinite" means its actually going to be a Bioshock/Skyoshock MMO? That's about the only thing that could vindicate the bullshit amount of teasering-for-a-teaser that has been going on. Otherwise, I would have rather just read a press release.
EDIT: Just read the Joystiq article and it seems like its not an MMO.... but may have more social/RPG elements? I could get on board with that, possibly...
Is it? Or is it just that Bioshock, while a decent game, was in all truth WAY overrated?
What I wanted it to be was the real GTA MMO, developed by Irrational, or something else cool to that effect (there were references to R* in the teaser page source)
Which is way more awesome than Steampunk Bioshock.
