I mean that's what this inevitably turns into, every, single, time. Moving the goalpost back to "is this actually transphobia?" "Are they really so bad?", all the same shit as the Dave Chapelle stuff last year. All the while anti trans bills are being written at record numbers and the former president just said if he gets back into office he want's us all fucking gone.

I think the gamespot article on JKR sums it up really well in the end.

"If you are not willing to give up a piece of entertainment in solidarity against the harm JK Rowling continues to enact; then how can trans people feel assured you’ll be willing to fight for us in more important areas, such as anti-trans violence, be it physical, mental, personal, systemic or legislative, especially as the discrimination continues to rise? So while I will say you are not a transphobe or a bigot if you buy Hogwarts Legacy, do not also claim to be a trans ally if you do buy the game. Being an ally means being willing to give something up, and what's more, to stand up for those who are vulnerable."

Buy it if you want, but don't go around pretending you actually care about the issues if you do.

I imagine they pulled the ones that have single player campaigns too because...they just don't care about their old stuff.

Only once, Deadly Premonition, which I wasn't convinced wasn't some sort of fever dream until I found other people playing it online after I had finished it.

@ragtagbag: This. The competitive/hardcore ow scene has been highly critical of how the game's been managed for the last few years, but they are pretty much in consensus about this: ow2 is way more fun to play than ow1 and the f2p battle pass model is an unfortunate but necessary change. This launch has been covered as if it were as egregious as FIFA, but its honestly a more consumer friendly bp than ow's competitors. Where's the outrage that new Apex and Valorant characters are behind a paywall? SMS has been a thing in comp fps for years now.

How is it more consumer friendly? I'm not well versed in all the battle passes, but it seems pretty rotten. Battle Passes already by design are FOMO garbage, and OW2's doesn't even give back enough of it's credits to buy the next one. That combined with the other unlock changes, with loot boxes gone, the only way to get skins now is through buying or earning credits, and your capped at only earning 60 credits a week if you do all the weekly challenges. Also, Legendary skins cost about 1,900 credits (and all old skin prices have increased) so that will take you roughly 7 or 8 months to unlock a single one. Loot boxes are a whole other issue, but i'm pretty sure I unlocked a hell of a lot more Legendary skins than 1 over that time frame with the old system.

Everything I read about the unlock system and battle pass, something I already despise, seems like the worst version of it in any game. I honestly haven't played much in quite a while, except for booting it up one last time last week, but I think I can confidently say at this point I'll never play 2.

Having been a 360 to PC only gamer post PS2, I am looking forward to checking this out since I liked the modern Tomb Raider games so much, but yeah It would be nice to get 1-3. The big thing though is that's kind of a bad release date, for myself at least, October has RE8 DLC, Scorn, Plague Tale: Requiem, and Gotham Knights, all of which i'm way more interested in checking out sooner than that release.

I tried to play Daymare, I really, really tried...But I got stuck on a boss fight and the thing preventing me from actually beating it was that damned reloading mechanic. It did nail the frustration of the PS1 days I suppose, just not of the better survival horror games.

The thing I find most frustrating about about this is how this is supposed to be the Halo going forward, the whole "10 year plan" thing like Destiny supposedly had. I thought the campaign was incredibly poor and if the next single player Halo I have to look forward is just....more of this crap? Then I guess the only thing i'm really looking forward to is some tell all about how much of a mess it is behind the scenes given how everything has gone so far.
