The Amico being a failure was pretty much a guarantee, and I would have been more surprised if any console ever released.

The pricing on the game on steam is...not great. No discount at all(be that a launch discount or any sort of bundle discount if you already own 1 & 2) and no edition that is just all Hitman 3 stuff, there is a deluxe edition that has a 35 dollar pack of deluxe escalations/soundtrack/artbook etc, but all the Season of Sin stuff isn't included and is instead 30 dollars and not included in any of the bundles. I waited a year, I'll wait longer for a better price.

@csl316: I think that's where i'm at with it too, I liked the first half and the ideas it had going for it, but the action parts where kind of weak, not particularly bad or anything but they weren't as interestingly shot as the old movies and they just went on for way to long, like I feel like you could cut a good 20-25 minutes out of that back half and have a better overall movie.

I mostly left Halo behind when Bungie left, I went PC only before 4 came out, but eventually played it this year when it came to PC(Overall I thought it was "okay"). I haven't played 5 since they have zero interest in porting that over. With that all said...I think it's easily the worst Halo campaign in the series.

The open world is just so...standard, it really doesn't feel any different than your average ubisoft game aside from the grappleshot(which is so powerful it essentially makes the equipment pointless). The actual levels themselves are equally as dull, I've done a Heroic run, then a speedrun on normal to finish up getting skulls, and now i'm almost done with a LASO run and I *still* can't remember most of the levels apart. The actual plot is not good either, so much happens off screen and soooo much of the game is 2 characters talking to each other as if they were in a play, don't even get me started on where it seems to be leading for the future.

I think this is gonna be remembered like Shadow of Mordor was, people will fondly remember the one really neat thing (the Nemesis System, in this case, the Grappleshot) and almost nothing else of the game.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy

2. Deathloop

3. Resident Evil Village

4. Adios

5. The Medium

I really didn't play a ton of actual 2021 release games, but still, I was shocked at how good Guardians of the Galaxy was. I understand (some) of the criticism of Deathloop but I still had a great time with it and I hope they add more to it or make a sequel down the line. Resident Evil Village was a pretty big personal disappointment for me coming off of 7, but it's still got good stuff in it and I still did end up sitting down to scour everything I could out of it. Adios was just a neat little "walking sim" type of thing that did a good job with it's story and interactivity. The Medium...wasn't great, but not awful either, it's more just here because I didn't play much else.

The only 2021 game that I'm leaving off is Halo Infinite, the multiplayer is a lot of fun but lacking in maps and modes, but the campaign is the one of the most disappointing games i've played in years. The grappleshot can't make up for one of the most generic ubisoft open worlds out there, the most bland and boring story missions of the series, and a really poorly told(seriously, 90% of those cutscenes are 2 characters talking to each other with the location not really mattering, this could be a school play!) and just not good story. If this is "the next 10 years of Halo", then i'm a Halo multiplayer only guy I guess until the 2030s.

(Also best old game I played for the first time this year is Yakuza 0, I am all in on that series now)

That last FPS Terminator game that came out was surprisingly not bad, so sure, why not? The dev behind this one has a weird history, they've done what looks like a couple simple looking cartoony cat games, and an RTS called Syrian Warfare that looks very similar to this.

So first off, I'm a big fan of the Bungie era games, specifically the campaigns, I always enjoyed the multiplayer too but I looked at that as more of a bonus, campaign is what I came to these games for. By the time 4 was out I had switched over to PC so I never played it until just about a year ago when it was added to MCC PC, and I thought it was "fine", an okay first shot out of the gate. Have not played 5, from everything i've heard/seen it sounds like I'm not missing much but I'm still hoping we get a PC port eventually so I can see for myself.

With that said, I think this is the worst Halo campaign, easily. The open world brings nothing to the table, it's just your average open world filler to pad out length. The actual story missions themselves are all dull and thanks to the VERY limited tileset nearly indistinguishable from each other. The story itself is....bad, I like what they were *attempting* to do with Master Chief, Weapon, and the Pilot but I just don't think the writing for that worked personally. The actual plot on the other hand had me rolling my eyes at the end, I have zero interest in seeing where this goes.

The grappleshot adds a fun mobility to the combat, but the other equipment items might as well not exist thanks to how clunky it is to switch to them on the fly(I tried to use drop wall more which did come in handy, but I never touched thruster). It all kind of breaks down though when you just endlessly fight the same configurations of the banished over the same type of bases or hallways over and over and over again. The bosses fights are all miserable and add nothing but frustration.

I'm really enjoying the multiplayer, and I can definitely be a bit of a contrarian, but i'm very surprised at how this one has been received critically, and I really wonder if it will go through a revaluation in a few months.

I think they eventually aired the full first season on TV once in a marathon quite a while ago, but that's it, at least in the US.

Honestly I didn't know it was still "early access", I bought it during that aforementioned steam sale but ended up putting off playing it when I saw the next big update was coming in December, the store page doesn't have the early access label and it kinda seemed like it was "done" with just some bug fixing/tweaking left over.
