I would like to see the originals on an eshop like store for a reasonable price that tie to your Nintendo account so you have access to them on future consoles.
I believe that message is for when they are streaming, live. But it stays up awhile afterwards, even though the stream has ended. Probably until someone updates it to say something else, I think.
If we except your premises that this is a video game movie because of "constant references to real video games as well as the heavy emphasis of video games in the book almost makes it a video game movie" then...No. By that definition Tron, War Games, The Last Starfighter, The Wizard, and Clock & Dagger were all great "video game" movies that came out decades before Ready Player One. I mean, even more recent popular films like The Matrix or Avatar could be considered heavily video game inspired films and there are probably dozen or more examples. So even if Ready Player One is great, it wouldn't even be close to being the first great movie in a Video Game Inspired genre of films.
Nintendo makes great games, but I have zero interest in their hardware anymore. I had every Nintendo console growing up, but I was done after the Wii. I didn't buy a Wii U and I doubt I'll buy a Switch. They are underpowered machines with bad controllers and terrible online infrastructures. Friends lists, in game chat, online store - all bad.
I think it's awesome for people to send them postcards. I'm sure they love the support and it would be cool if they are able to put them up on the wall. Just please don't request they read shout outs and kisses on the cheeks, it's gotten out of control and is really making the show drag at the end.
Props to having Buffy on the list. Its probably aged terribly, but at the time The Collective did an amazing job making a fun third person action game when it could have easily been licensed trash. Same with Riddick, which is actually probably my personal favorite.
@kcin: Has he? Haha, I haven't seen a pic lately, I'm so out of the loop when it comes to music nowadays. I'll have to go check out this new EP pronto though.
