@phoenix654: Personally, I've been avoiding Gigabyte after news broke that they'd been revising motherboards after they'd been reviewed to use cheaper components and remove features. And anecdotally, poor consumer experiences seem to be a recurring complaint on forums etc. in recent years.
I like that the one week when they turn to the comment section to help an emailer out is also a week when the comment section becomes a new front in the ongoing and terribly important internet culture war. That's gotta be fun to dig through for GPU troubleshooting advice.
God, I remember paying the £425 launch price. I have zero memories of any fucking games released prior to MGS4. but I remember handing over that cash. Goddamn.
That was at the point when £1 was worth $2 exactly, too, to rub salt in the wound.
And I got a yellow light of death within about 18 months. The PS3 pretty much single-handedly put me off consoles entirely.
@brianp: Ah but you see the critics were all paid off/are in a vast conspiracy with indie developers. All the True Gamers saw this walking simulator for the assault on True Gaming that it was.
