Fatal Frame is one of the few horror games that really unnerved me. I started playing it on a sunny Saturday afternoon, my friend was in the next room studying, and it still freaked me out. Most scary games I prefer to play after dark, but that one I had to play during the day.

looks like it's totally working as intended to me.

If your game isn't interesting and people don't want a sequel .. well it won't get funded.

If you are a newcomer and don't have enough to show to give people confidence you will deliver something worth playing .. it won't get funded.

You still have to market your product.

You still have to make something worth playing.

Now you have another funding source other than self-funded, publisher, or panhandling.

The Thief series is really good at this. Actually, anything by Looking Glass Studios is since they've always got great sound design. Here's one of my favourites:

Here's hoping that Thief 4 has just as good banter. Doubtful, but I can hope.

That second one was fantastic! When the shouting turned to shrieking I thought WOW these guys are really going for it! Quality acting there. Hilarious ending. Gotta play those games again.

I'm having the same problem and i don't even own an Xbox. First said my account was hacked or something, change password. Accepts changed password but says my profile is wrong. Windows Live ID seems crappy. I only set it up so I could play Viva Pinata...

The Arland series is sort of a return to the traditional model of alchemy/shop management from the original games, from what I understand (but with combat added in). If you want something with a bit more story and less focus on item creation, and no time management, you could try the Atelier Iris series on PS2. This is the only other Atelier series I've played and I think they created it to appeal to a western audience. They took the item creation bit of the traditional Atelier games but put it in service of an RPG. The games are not perfect, they are low budget NIS games, but they are colorful and a lot of fun in my opinion. If I remember they also have Japanese language options too.

You have reminded me I need to check the status of my Wii. I bought it a couple years ago but have yet to complete a game on it. It's been gathering dust. I feel like I better start playing something and getting used to motion controls to prepare myself for Xenoblade.

This is super exciting to me. I was just a little kid when I first played Mean Streets and I couldn't really figure out how it worked, but that game shaped so much about my future tastes (both in video games and general fiction) that though I haven't finished it, I consider it one of the most important games I've ever played.

Super excited about this!

Part of me doesn't want to stay this out loud, but dude. Funcom? Longest Journey? That kickstarter needs to happen, because I don't think we're ever going to get a sequel to Dreamfall without it. C'mon Ragnar -- let's make an adventure game!

It saddens me to realize that I'd completely forgotten about the unfulfilled Longest Journey trilogy. It's been so LONG. The Longest Journey remains one of my all-time favorite adventure games. If Funcom could tie that up and Jane Jensen could make a 4th Gabriel Knight game I would never ask for anything more.

I demand a wrap up to Gabriel Knight.

WHAT HAPPENED TO GRACE?

I KNOW!!! Damn I want just one more Gabriel Knight game. This is cool news though. I bought all the Tex Murphy games on GOG but haven't played them yet. Maybe I'll do that soon.

Working with your old boss again? That seems poor. Especially it's BECAUSE of Gamespot that we got Giantbomb. I really don't want to see another GiantBomb2.

Did you watch Jeff's video explaining the events leading up to his firing? The people that did it were new and didn't work well with the editorial team. None of them even work in the industry anymore, let alone at Gamespot. Present-day Gamespot is not the villain here, I don't think.

So will I have to go to Gamespot at all if I don't want to? Will my membership and stuff all stay on this site and can all be accessed and changed here if I don't want to go to Gamespot?

Did you actually read the FAQ???
