I've heard about this game for a while but it's still not available on the US market (soon though) so I'll take a closer look when it gets here.  According to Gamestop it will come out October 6, 2009.

EDIT: October is a horrible time to release a game like this though so expect low numbers to be available initially.  I'm certain it will get lost in the shuffle of all the high profile games being released for the holidays.

@Garfield360UK:  Strategy RPG, ie a game where you move characters around a battlefield to gain position for attacks.  There is usually a certain amount of movement or action points that can be spent to gain position or perform an action.  These games are usually turn based as well.  But they are different than standard wargames in that there is a story and leveling of characters.  Disgaea has a very old school SNES look to it (modernized of course) while Valkyria Chronicles looks like an anime. I think there is a "Quick Look" for Valkyria on this site.

Disgaea 3 is available from Game.UK website.

I suggest you download Whipout HD from PSN for a retro arcade racer that is a lot of fun and still has a strong community.  I think they just recently released some DLC, too.  Also, I reiterate the recommendation of Valkyria ChroniclesDisgaea 3 is also something you might want to look at.  Both games are SRPGs though, so keep that in mind.

Basically this but insert "Jeff Gerstmann is Still Alive" blog and the premier Itunes Bombcast episode before finally deciding to join the site...the long national nightmare of no weekly Jeff & Ryan was over.

Valve isn't going to put the effort into L4D on the PS3, I think so it would have to be an EA port of that title.

My guess is Splinter Cell: Conviction.

@Stunt:  Too bad, that Giant Bomb game sounded pretty good.  Add a few social links and maybe a bears versus dinosaurs mini-game and I'm sold.

I bitched about the differences between P3 FES and P4 in my thread "Persona 3 fanatic not loving P4 so far" but I've come to accept P4 for what it is.  Plus, having now worked my way through about 80% of the game, I do believe it is a better game than P3.  However, that being said, I still prefer the story, characters and time management of P3 over P4.  But, as I said, even though they are very similar, they are also in many aspects different games and should be enjoyed on their own merits.

In P4 you can screw up S. Links I think, although I never tried purposely.   I did give Yosuke a wrong answer in class once and the game said I need to apologize.  I didn't and my link still progressed, but that might be because I was eventually involved in sequences where I received group "love" from all my close social links.   In P3 I kept "cheating" on Fuuka so that relationship soured time and time again.

@Red12b:  Wow, you've got a complete original soundtrack, but that's cool.  For some reason I picture you as a hairy dude in flannel.   I thought the Hans Zimmer track was really cool.

It's amazing how threads some time see new life.  This one's been dead for nearly three months, but is back again.

The Pokemon and Slapchop themes were fun as well.  In another life, I might have picked this.
