List items

  • Mass Effect 2 make the top of this list, on its huge success as a sequel. This game makes the original Mass Effect better! How crazy is that?

  • This game hit me so intensely in some spots that I had stop playing several times to regain my composure. Heavy Rain may not be perfect, but as piece of interactive art it lays open a vast field of new possibilities for future games.

  • AssCree: Bro is not the quantum leap that Assassin's Creed II was over it's predecessor. It is a worthy successor to the legacy. The single-player narrative can stand on its own. The refreshing multi-player experience (NOT LT: aim RT: fire) is just frosting.

  • I love Civ. While I lament the loss of things like religions. The much improved combat is a worthy trade-off. and HEXES, 'nuff said.

  • I watched the Quick Look, and before I could be asked to replay the video I had leaped to Xbox to download it. I did not stop playing until I had unlocked all the EX options and then I played some more. It is still my go-to game to waste 20 minutes.

  • I am not good at RTS games, I have a very love-hate relationship with them, I love them they hate me. StarCraft II has a campaign that even my single-track proletariat mind can comprehend if not conquer. Bravo Blizzard.

  • The Twin Peaks/Stephen King inspired atmosphere hooked me instantly. The combat on the other-hand, is straight up boring, by the half-way point you have seen all the tricks. There was about a 7 month gap between when I started Alan Wake and finished it, even still I was bored by the same 3 enemy types. It says a lot for the way Remedy does story that it makes my list.

  • I spent $200 on this game. It was worth it.

  • I have a soft spot for Scott Pilgrim, the way it darkly mimics my own life might have something to do with it.

  • I think Drew Scanlon summed it up well, "Glowy."
