Can anybody convince me to buy Nintendo 3Ds.  
I am not Nintendo fan, though NES was my first game console in 1989. 
I own 3 big consoles and PSP. 
I bought Nintendo mainly for WiiFit. No time to play Wii. Maybe my daughter will use it someday. She is under 3 years now. 
But I've got some very good boost in salary. 
But I am not sure if DS games will be for me. 
I know for sure that PS Vita is day one purchase. 
But please help me to decide. And kindly advise some games.

If you need someone to convince you then you clearly dont need one in your life. Unless you really, and i mean REALLY want to play Ocarina of time with a shiny new paint job i would say skip it for now.

If you need convincing don't get the product. Get it, or anything for that matter, when you genuinely want it.

I kind of did the same thing. In the grand scheme of things, I paid $600 for an iPad 2 I knew I wouldn't use, so it wasn't difficult to justify the $250 for a 3DS I knew I wouldn't use.

It's really pretty cool. Maybe not for me, but it's a nice little handheld.

Wait to get one by the end of the year. There should be some good games by then for the 3DS.

I have a 3DS and while I enjoy playing DoA/Zelda/SW Chronicles/Ghost Recon I can't recommend the system to anyone because imo the hardware just isn't fully baked. Even if there are a few good games- they'll probably release an SP edition anyway and there will be even more games out that probably werent forced to implement 3D gimmicks. Buy one now and you're dealing with battery problems, sleep mode weirdness and the most bizzare way to turn a handheld completely off ever.

Edit: DS Lite/DSi is a fine system tho- plenty of great games. Yes, 3DS can play DS games but again- hardware weirdness.

Thanks everyone.  I reviewed the question and some comments. And I think that most of You read between the lines if I should by this very first iteration of system.
My biggest doubt was the battery life. 
Also, there were many articles about original DS and DSLite. That hardware upgrade made DSLite stronger.
As a seafarer I can encounter the problems with region incompatibility. That is a big plus in late PlayStation products. XBOX360 is improving as well. 
But Nintendo... I cannot use all(limited comparing to PSN and XBOX Live) online features in my region(Ukraine). Actualy none of them, except updating firmware. 
The thing is. I played only one Zelda and Super Metroid 2 game on friend's SNES. 
I want to play those classics, but I do not have that strive for Nintendo games. No Nostalgy from my side. 
So I'll wait....

Not right now. Wait for the PS Vita release and its lineup. 3DS Lite is propably just around the corner too.

You arent missing much when it comes to Nintendos online story. Its pretty much garbage imo.

I have to agree with this, i got a 3DS on day 1 and i havent looked back since, its a great machine and it does me just fine. On the other hand, if your looking for someone to force your hand then maybe you should be looking elsewhere, the PSV will be out soon if thats more your bag and there are ipads and smart phones if your just looking for bite sized experiances.

Get it and play ocarina. Actually don't and save your money. Actually I don't give a flying fuck.

You can wait until they made a revision to the 3Ds and buy it. It might have better battery life and is smaller.

I'm gonna say not to buy, wait for more games
