My first thought when I saw the PS5 was, huh I might wait till the redesign/slim version. I'll give it to them its a bold design, stepping away from their 26 years of black boxes. However I'm not really a fan this design, as someone who owned a PS2 And PS3.

Conference wise I really enjoyed it, they jam packed it with games and lots of it. Sure there was a few indie games too many, but its better than having tech demos. Also came out of the conference hyped for a few games : Rachet and clank, ghost wire, horizon 2, and RE8.

I'm glad they remastered it the way they did, especially the music! Man Frank's work for this remaster has been great, and listening to the soundtrack was the selling point for me. Honestly I never got a chance to properly play the game on PC (as I played Tiberium dawn on PSP way back), so its a good time to get it.

Man I've been having a blast with all the games I'm playing. I've been playing a ton of Monster Hunter World Iceborne, and Borderlands 3, only because they just came out for Steam recently. However, pertaining to the ones released this year...

Doom Eternal

Man what can I say about this game that hasn't been said about it, other than I pre-ordered the Doot edition (deluxe edition ) when it was announced. With the months leading up the game's release the hype was immeasurable for me, but it was so worth it as the game was truely Eternal (for me)! Combat changes were great forcing me to strategy while diversifying for each fight. Stages were designed to look, and play well! I even had a smile whenever I saw that marauder spawn in, ready for a tense and rewarding fight.

Xcom: Chimera Squad

As someone who loves the rebooted Xcom series, I was pleasantly surprised by this game's release. Just announced and to be released in the same month, with a 50% discount as well! Playing it I love the game play changes, from the breaching mechanic, to the turn order system affecting most strategies, this was a buy I'm glad I bought day 1. Icing on the cake is the tidbits of extra lore about the aliens and world.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare-Warzone

I've disliked Call of Duty, until the recent Modern Warefare game pushed for a quality and refined experience that I could respect. I loved the new tactical features that came with the game, but with its low time to kill and Killstreak clutter maps I couldn't get into the beta. Then came Warzone with its huge map, armor system, simplified loot, and many nice quality of life features. Playing it with some friends and I'm loving it!

@stephen_von_cloud:

They could have discounted the price to give people more incentive to preorder, since its such an unknown project. Also I think $10 ($15 for Canadians/ other countries ) is a fair price given the tactical legacy pack is about that price. To be noted that was given out for free for a month if you owned War of the Chosen.

Anyways I'm down for more XCOM2, and with it coming soon/cheap I'm sold!

The anime was fine, good action with an art style that is used a bit too much. If anything my real complaint is that the movie wasn't long enough and would have preferred a whole series instead of a movie. More Altered Carbon done well isn't too much of a bad thing.

As someone who loved the first season of the show, I really didn't find the second season as compelling as the first. I enjoyed enough to watch through most of it, then trudged through the final episodes to get to the end. Pretty much agree with most of the points put forward by everyone above.

Do I find him annoying, yes. Does he ruin the game for me (so far), no

I just encountered him for the first time last night, twice in the challenge room. His first encounter is definitely a brutal one, small space, little pick ups and he comes with a wolf too that could distract you enough to kill you. I didn't lower my difficulty to beat him, playing on ultraviolence, granted I died about 6 times in this encounter.

His second encounter in the challenge room was much more manageable. I ran away from him and killed everything else until there was imps and him left in the room. When it came down to it felt like a strange game of chicken, who would get close enough to shot gun range first. Took me no extra lives to kill him this time.

Both times it felt so satisfying to finish him off, and used the super shotgun/ charged plasma rifle to hit him. I will try out the Ballista since I haven't given that gun much use.

As long as the map isn't as small as the first time when I encounter him I won't have much issue with him. If lore states that the marauders were once a slayer like the Doom Slayer himself, then I won't have the fight go any way.

@sombre: if anything the memes got me to watch the show, and the show got me to love the music, so I'm glad they used it.

personally I like the Pyscho pass opening, probably also because its one of my favourite shows, and this is when the show got really good.

but for ending I liked the Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood #4

To add to this, its also the same for Canada Netflix as we just got part 3 as well. As some one who recently finished part 3, I'm glad Netflix finally released it, since it was Netflix that let me start my journey into the world of Jojo's

As for which part is best, I've heard nothing but praise for parts 4 and 5 so I don't know if 3 is the high point. This is from close friends who've watched all of Jojos long before and got me into the series.

Been playing Age Of Wonders : Planetfall, best way to describe it is Xcom and Civ had a Sci-fi baby. This is my first Age of wonders game, and also my first Paradox interactive published game. I've been playing Firaxis games (Civ and Xcom) ever since 2000, and there hasn't been another 4X game (other than Total War: Warhammer) which has kept my attention until now. This game has won some game awards and from that I purchased it since it was on sale.

Putting about 11 hours into it, I enjoy the combat phase, controlling small but powerful armies in an xcom style battle. There are also heroes which have some many skills they are borderline a DnD character. The depth to this game is great, and I look forward to playing tons more hours into it. I've gotten used to the AA quality of the game but for a $40 US ($56 Can) the game is really punching above its weight here.

It was for one of my favorite games, Dragon Quest 8. I loved playing it on my PS2 when it launched, pirated, but only got half way before I got distracted with some new games. Then my PS2 stopped reading discs. I said I would buy whatever system it got ported to in the future. Even though I had a Backwards Compatible PS3, my local Gamestops didn't have it for PS2.

The 3DS version when it came out, and I started on my quest to get it. I bought an old 3DS XL from my friend used for $150, and went to buy a physical copy. The store which carried it was 40 km (25 miles) away from my home, and I drove there after work to get it. It worked perfectly for the most part.

I played through most of the game till I got to the final boss area, and I spilled water near my 3DS. I opened it up to clean it, and thankfully there was little damage to the hardware itself. However one issue came up, the Right trigger always thought was down. After investigating fixes for the trigger, I simply unplugged it and finished the game without a right trigger. To be fair the triggers were to only control the camera, so it was more of an inconvenience.

Recently I got a new wire to fix it, so I'm not loading some games for a trip to play my 3ds.
