That stage at the start shows everything wrong in gaming today, and some things wrong with this game.
They really went too far with the "EVERY ENEMY IS A HEALTHPACK/AMMO PACK" and they ruined everything that made Doom 2016 excellent with overreliance on that gimmick.
It also commits the cardinal sin of bad jumping puzzles in a FPS game.
Also all the stupid cooldowns were a bit much.
Weak points are "optional" but if you don't hit them on enemies you're going to be wasting too much ammo which for some stupid reason in this game is limited... wtf, but that's to keep you popping these stupid "AMMO PACK" baddies with the other awful gimmicks like flame thrower or whichever does that, all these meters constantly dinging is really stupid too.
I LOVED Doom 2016, I can barely bring myself to play Doom Eternal even though I pre-ordered it.
If they make a new Doom in this series I hope they take all the trash out of it and go back to the spirit of Doom 2016.
Switch, where it's not only accepted to release a SINGLE ROM for $20 with no enhancements, but it's CELEBRATED... the Nintendo output issue is a two way street.
The key designer of moon did an interview with Patrick Klepek the other day talking about how difficult it was to get this game working on Switch (and then localizing it in English for the first time on top of that). Dismissing it as simply putting out a ROM is moronic. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/m7jw78/a-game-without-killing-the-story-of-moons-22-year-journey-to-leave-japan
If you have to read an article to justify the cost there’s an issue here, this is the special Nintendo rule Jeff talked about ages ago.
Also, don’t call someone a moron because of a gaming opinion, get a hold of yourself.

ALWAYS take Steam Reviews with a grain of salt, 3 word reviews and RECEIVED THIS PRODUCT FREE reviews are weighed the same as reviews that might seem worth reading.
I laugh whenever I see a bundle for games that are "overwhelmingly positive" on Steam... yeaaa that's a really reliable metric.
It's becoming crystal clear that a game that launches on Gamepass is of a certain quality. They talk about how they were rushed through production, so that's not a great sign.
Watching this reminds me of the old days of trying to play a poorly optimized game on an underpowered PC that looks like it's about to crash and turn into a ball of fire because of how much it's being pushed.
Who deemed that rouge-lites need to have bullets that you need dodge all the damn time, it really ruins Hades in the later levels, it's really lazy design, they lean on that mechanic in lieu of making a better difficulty gimmick.
