yeah without a doubt!

1) It can be you can set difficulty higher or do less grinding.

2) not quite, different feel more light hearted in nature.

3) the structure don't really change but themes work to spice them up so not really.

I think you came close with your point of standards. I don't think it because of games like mirrors edge and dead space not setting the world on fire. It has more to do with them not keeping the same standard when these type of games get a sequel. This on top of their very aggressive business model that does not bring good will, on top of gamers having a chance to be angry that the next game in the series feels streamlined or rushed.

Mass effect, dead space and dragon age are all great games and have made good sequels but you can see the business model effecting these games and making them subpar in some aspect. Mass effect 2 great game but less rpg in nature, Mass effect 3 with good but added-on multiplayer and having a rushed and unsatisfying ending, Dead space 2 unneeded multiplayer, dead space 3 micro transaction with an unsatisfying ending, and dragon age 2 with its reused environments and streamlined inventory system.

All these games feel like that are run into a EA business model standard and have made the game less deep in one way or the other. At the end you have to build some sort of good will by making a new IP and creating something that is fan service. EA seems to have given up on that as well.

@phatmac: I would actually be very interested in this because as a person who listens to many podcast i often find reviewers have a different outlook because of their jobs. While normal gamers don't have to rush to beat games and often can be more informed because of it. I have a Skype account and an average mic but i can get a better mic if need be.

Also a cool idea would be maybe to have a rotating cast so if you do have more then 5 people join others can guest star on the podcast. This may also free up people if their schedule not flexible to do it every two week or every month.

I don't mind the cool down because it plays on strategy but I just think the menu layout tips it over the edge of being unfair at times. Having to scroll between skills and defend can be time consuming when every seconds counts. If they ever make another one they should have dedicated buttons for attack and defend and maybe setup hot keys to do the skills you use quite often. Awesome game!

@artemesia: Glad you are OK and you don't have to be sorry on our behalf, that is what a community is for. Just get help and make that support group outside the internet and know that the giant bomb community is here to listen.

Hey like everyone else is saying don't do it because you have a future and you have to keep fighting on. Life sucks at times but its never forever and when you do find some friends worth a salt you will be all the better and stronger for it. The many people here who don't want you to do this is only a small part of the world who could have your back. You will find people in person who have the same feelings.

I can not stress anymore to just think this over and read everyone's comment here to realize if these people can care for you, there are people outside the internet who could be just as caring if not more so. You just have to first get professional help and talk this out with a professional. The giant bomb community is not going anywhere ether if you need any kind of support system right now at least. You will need one outside of the internet too but please just cool it on the end stuff until you have time to think about this and get help. Friends are always around the corner so just stay strong.

I would do my own research and create my own rating for the game. I would trust my own judgement over that of a ratings board.

Pretty much.

I think so it so much better having a better screen when playing most games. The size really does help make it a more laid back playing experience. I also like the form factor a bit better, the start, select, and home buttons feel more like buttons that you press. The stylist is back on the side of the XL 3ds which is nice along with the outer shell feeling nicer to hold. The Battery life is also a bit better and lasting a lot longer in sleep mode.

Just to give you all sides there are some minor setbacks to the XL from the original. The casing of the XL will feel like its made of cheaper material then the boxy glossy casing of the original. There are reports that the sound is a bit softer then the original along with the image being a hair more pixelated.

These things in actual play sessions from my experience don't seem to be noticable unless you have them side by side. I think the pros out weight the cons by a mile and spending a full day with the XL you will wonder how you ever put up with the first 3ds size.

I really don't understand this reaction. I know the bomb crew works well together but why freak out the minute anybody else is on the giant bomb shows. It just seems a bit disrespectful like when you boo the opening act just because you can't wait for the headliners of a show. If you don't like them that cool but why banish them to the corner of the internet because you don't want your game spot people mixing with your giant bomb people.
