Technically not a Giant Bombcast quote, but I digress. "No one is more authentic than Kid Rock. No one." And the following "No one is more authentic than ______" jokes. I laughed so hard at those.
Usually the forgotten member of a group, who is your favorite bassist ever? Personally, it's hard for me to narrow it down to 10. But for my all time favorite, I'd probably have to say Cliff Burton of Metallica. Based on what I've seen of his performances, the man had a charisma like no other, and was really fucking good at what he did. No offense to the other brilliantly talented bassists that graced our ears like Steve Harris, John Entwistle, Mike Dirnt, or Lemmy, they're some of my favorites as well.
Some of us have the gift of being mellow. For those lucky ones among us, this thread need not apply to you. To those of us with a bit of irritability inside, what's the angriest you've ever gotten at a video game? What was the game? What did you do?
For me, it was Street Fighter IV last year. I was a bit of a novice to Street Fighter, but with M. Bison (and later Akuma), I found my groove. Then, this douchey little shit called Seth came around, kicked my ass for quite a while. I almost had him once, he was literally one hit away from KO. But he used triple Guile-Sonicbooms and killed me. I threw my controller behind my back really hard and it went right through my window and onto the driveway. Luckily, no one was pulling out of it.
No artist is infallible. They all fuck up at least once. Out of all the musicians that are our favorites, what's you most hated work by that artist?
St. Anger by Metallica was just plain bad, even by Metallica's '90's standards. They basically made Kirk Hammett sit in the backseat while Lars and James (who was gone for half the record) fronted the album with awful drum production, irritating vocals, and mediocre lyrics. And let's not forget Bob Rock had to do the bass himself. I knew Metallica was on a slippery slope after Reload, but damn, the album was mainly shit. It's like they were trying to be nu-metal and actually failed at it, which is a new level of fucking up. Thank God Death Magnetic was more than halfway decent.
Over the weekend I decided to watch some Uwe Boll movies. Even if this movie was absolute shit, I would have probably enjoyed it more. As it is, I'm glad to see that it's not fucking terrible.
