Great Collection, Great Value 0

Brimming with brevity rarely experienced in other games in the genre and compelling characters whose leitmotifs touch the nostalgic chords in the hearts of fans that have celebrated this gem of a JRPG for nearly twenty years, FFIV is back and better than ever. FFIV made major technical and theatrical changes on the three previous titles that caused the game to stand out and define what Final Fantasy games would be about in future titles to come: Save Points, ATB System, extensive side quests, cu...

TVDJ is awfully good! 0

Wow, this game is so bad that it's good! The game launched at a very budget price (something like 2000 Yen) for the PS2 with great looking cel-shaded graphics and voice acting. The game is very simple to learn and not very cerebral but the joy of this game comes from watching the bizarre story. In TVDJ you play as a producer/DJ that mixes segments of the show together to make one cohesive (haha, good luck!) take.  If you live in Japan, chances are you can find this rare little gem in almost any ...

Final Fantasy is like a Grandmother 0

You have a grandmother, everybody does. She's old and probably quite pleasant to be around. A lot of her old-timeyness is what gives her charm and even though she is often slow or tedious, she is very rewarding to be around (cookies, dinners, etc.)  To me, Final Fantasy is like a Grandmother. Like every one of us, she started out as a child (FF1, FF2) and proved that she had a bright future in store for all of us. There was a time where some of her best qualities (FF3, FF5, FFT) became obvious a...

Sony's FPS Actually Awesome 7

Okay, this game has lived up to the hype - graphics, music, action, controls, etc. On top of all of that good stuff, it doesn't have shitty load times or some bigass install for your HDD like many other titles. Killzone is a technical giant that rides your PS3 like Armstrong rides a bicycle. Whatever that meant; I actually cannot describe how positive my feelings are about the game. So what sucks about Killzone 2? Crappy dialogue delivered by bad voice work and a story that is just so lame that ...

Um Jammer Lammy 0

Um Jammer Lammy is a rhythm based game that takes place in the PaRappa game series world and tells the story of an all girl pop rock band, Milk The game has very humorous music tracks, co-op gameplay, and a lot of unlockables to ensure many hours of gameplay. Um Jammer Lammy may not get you on its’ approach to guitar rhythm gameplay, but its’ charm leaves a long lasting impression. The game’s protagonist, Lammy (seemingly a lamb type creature), is a girl that is in a band called Milk Can with h...

Metroid Zero Mission 1

Metroid: Zero Mission is a remake of the original game and a very good one at that. All of the original and newer bosses, weapons, levels, and that classic feeling of exploration made their way into this game. For what is it worth (probably $20 at your local Gamespot/EB) this game is amazing! Now, many people will tell you that the game is short; 3-5 hours the first time through. In fact, I will tell you, "Yeah, the game is short." But... If you want to collect all of the extras, you'll find ...

FFXI 0

FFXI Pros - Unique races, creative jobs, expansive zones, numerous quests, and has many expansions that allow for thousands of gameplay hours. FFXI Cons - Slow installation process, terrible economy, many jobs end up equipping identical "elite" gear, very dry end-game, boring and tedious experience grinding on repetitive monsters, quests are so uninformative you resort to online guides at all times, job classes are unbalanced, some jobs are completely worthless, and the crafting system is the w...

RE 4 0

Resident Evil IV puts you back into the shoes of Leon "Don't shoot, I'm a human!" Kennedy and sweeps you off to Spain for a seriously nasty trip. Many times throughout this 20-25 hour adventure you'll be up against hordes of enemies, interactive life or death cutscenes, and hassle-free puzzles. So, you're probably thinking, "Damn, another Resident Evil game... it will have save rooms with boxes, limited carrying capacity, and final boss that has 3 forms and says "...stars..." over and over agai...

During the fun of the fair, you bump into a mysterious young girl who demands your attention for the duration of the festivities. God of War II 0

The game can speak for itself, so I'll just drop a few highlights. 10. A true sequel - amazing story right where the first one leaves off. 9. Epic boss fights in both scale and skill required to win. 8. Great musical score and voice acting. 7. Almost triple the amount of button "mini-games" that end in some brutal kills - satisfaction guaranteed. 6. Sense of scale draws you into the mythological world. 5. Fast load times and easy to navigate menus. 4. The game comes with a "making of DVD"...

GTA IV 0

Wow, what can I possibly say about GTAIV, which is the best game I've played in years, that other reviewers haven't already said. Ok, here's a bit of advice - go and buy this game now. Doesn't matter what console, whichever one you own or whichever controller you like - just buy it if you haven't already. Greatest GTA, one of the greatest games ever, and funnest game of 2008 by far. Also, this 360 version will have some downloadable content sometime in the near future which is awesome.So...Well,...

MGS4 GotP 0

Everything in this game is incredibly done; cinematics, gameplay, weapons, music, graphics, voice acting, boss fights, customization, multi-player, etc. If you own a PS3 you really should do yourself a favor and play this game. If you are a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, you should get this game immediately. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid_4:_Guns_of_the_Patriots "Set in 2014, five years after the "Big Shell Incident" (the events of the Plant chapter from Metal Gear S...

Gears of War 0

Every firefight in the game is an adrenaline and testosterone rush! You play as the mysterious Markus Phoenix and his best friend and combat comrade, Domingo - trying to make a difference in a lost world, conquered by a terrifying alien race. Challenging. Beautiful. Worth every penny. And although it's short, you'll play it like 5 times through and most likely become an addict of the online play. The game features a good amount of weapons that all have their uses against the many enemy types. T...

Parappa the Rappa 0

Wow, I'll never forget the time that Parappa, our little beanie wearing dog rapper dude friend, made his way to the US. Parappa had a lot to offer, like a good rhythm based game suitable for all ages... and a level where Parappa has diarrhea and must rap battle with previous "rap masters" in order to determine who gets access to the toilet. This game is crazy, crazy good. With memorable songs and Rodney Alan Greenblat's awesome artistic style, PaRappa the Rapper is a very fun game. It's also so...

Secret of Mana - Seiken Densetsu II 0

Pros - You can play with a friend or two. Has great music and beautiful graphics.Cons - Can be a bit buggy at times and sprites will disappear if too many are on the screen at once.Do you remember that smell of a brand new SNES cartridge? Remember the feeling of peeling off the lamination or that troublesome price sticker? Well, I sure do, and these memories all take me back to Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu II), possibly the best game in the popular series. But it isn't only nostalgia that kee...

Super Metroid SNES 0

From the start of the game, you are put into the action packed life of our leading woman, Samus Aran. Briefly, she educates you on past experiences of the Metroid franchise and thus sets the back story to this sci-fi adventure. After an awesome (by 1993 standards) self-destruction sequence and "orchestral synth beat" laden song, you are thrust upon the familiar planet Zebes. Here you will gain "power-ups" for Samus' signature ketchup and mustard colored Power Suit; some old and some new, all bad...
