It isn't for everyone. Out of interest what puts you off, and do you like other fantasy stuff or dislike the whole genre?

I like fantasy... but R.R. Martin's writing style is bad. Keeps repeating the same words over and over and over again. By the 3rd book I had fucking sick of them. Doesn't that guy know any synonyms for "queer"?

The universe is cool but also stupid. So they kept the family name and stuff for 8k(!!!) hours years but they are still in the middle ages? Bullshit. Not to mention that the story moves super slowly and there are too many chacters which I don't care about. I had to read through 50-120 pages of boring shit(Sansa, Onion knight just to name a few) several times to get to see what happened with the characters I liked. Not to mention that "killing off" important characters became lame super fast. Never finished the last 400 pages of Book 3 part 2.

The TV is disappoiting because it changed things from the books(in a bad way) and moves way too fast. The irony.
