My name is not Pimbly; nor Charles. It is Patrick.
The non-gaming art and photos you see in my images are by me. Proud of it.
Favorite developers are Obsidian, Ninja Theory, Avalanche Studios, Bethesda & Rockstar.
I love open world games. Very few linear games interest me.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Enslaved: Odyssey To The West & Metro Last Light are the exceptions that come to mind.
Enslaved has the most memorable and my favorite video game story and world ever. It's the game I treasure most put out in the past 10 years. Fallout: New Vegas comes right after that.
My more recent favorite games are Metro Last Light, Enslaved, Just Cause 1 & 2, Alpha Protocol & Fallout: New Vegas. I also LOVE Morrowind, Oblivion & Skyrim (of course). Also every GTA game since GTA 3 is amazing.
Been gaming since 1985, and my first introduction was the NES, so props to Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Mario Bros 2 & 3, Ninja Turtles 1 (seriously!) and Silent Service. All the obvious games for NES I played are well.... obvious. Just wanted to show my favorite exceptions.
Favorite console is the Dreamcast, because it was so far ahead of it's time and had some of the top best games ever: Skies of Arcadia anyone? Shenmue 1 was just spectacular and I played it to the end. What a game that was. Spent most of the time in the Arcade...
Anyway, I'm currently a PC gamer who likes to mess around with driver settings, GPU clock settings (OCing), getting deep into .ini files for better graphics. I'll do my best to make a PC game look better than intended, and then sit back and enjoy it.
Here's my PC specs as of 12/3/2013:
|Processor:||Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (B3) 2.4GHz OC'ed to 3.6GHz (9x, 400MHz bus, 1600MHz FSB, 1.5v)|
|Memory:||8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 PC3 12800 @ 1600MHz (8-8-8-22-2T) (1.5v)|
|Hard Drive:||Three 7200RPM SATA600 HDs (500GB, 1TB, 2TB)|
|Video Card:||PNY Geforce GTX 470 1280MB OC'ed to 750-3200-1500 MHz @ 1.087v|
|Monitor:||Asus VG236H 1080p 120hz LCD 3D Vision|
|Speakers/Headphones:||Creative 2.1 Stereo Speakers|
|Keyboard:||Generic Dell KB|
|Mouse:||Generic Dell Mouse|
|Operating System:||Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64|
|Case:||Custom built with one side open to air to help cool parts|
|Power Supply:||PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910W|
I max out almost all games at a forced 30fps (via NVidia Inspector) with VSync On (via D3DOverrider), Ambient Occlusion & FXAA forced.
I'm using an old ass CPU, but with my overclock, it keeps up with current games. In fact, my GTX 470 is the bottleneck, and often because of dedicated video memory and lack of stream processors (aka CUDA cores). GPU clock settings are OC'ed exactly at the stable point.
