Kind of off topic, but I really don't fucking understand why everyone jumps to the chance of shutting down anyone who legit enjoys Jet Set Radio. I sort of get the feeling that the people saying it "doesn't hold up" never actually played the original, and just remembered watching other people play it or saw screenshots years after the fact. Maybe my least favorite part of this new wave of HD ports is all the downers saying the games were never good.
That said, yeah, Killer Instinct was always garbage. I'm sure if they give it to someone other than Rare, though, the IP could be used for some cool things.
Wait what the fuck is he/she talking about Erica being put in a negative light?
Did they even play the game?
I'm honestly confused. Am I missing something, or are they just stupid?
I think the unfortunate truth is that people are missing the backstory here. The person who started and runs Boycott Atlus is a very disturbed individual. He frequently and intentionally fails to take his medication, which I think he finds "funny" and "cute". He alienates his friends, and constantly cherry picks stuff in order to create arguments with anyone who makes the mistake of speaking to him. He prides himself on being an asshole; he puts it right there in his Twitter bio, and it's not a joke. I am convinced that he started Boycott Atlus just to justify his need for confrontation. He is a hateful person.
I really don't understand the need to be politically correct all the time... in a truly free society bigotry needs to be accepted
It isn't politically correctness for the sake of it. You shouldn't need a reason to be compassionate and sensitive to issues that other people feel are important.
I don't want to be one of "those guys" who jumps at a game or whatever right when it's revealed for something that is later proven to be super petty, but man... I don't think I could hate the tone or look of this game anymore than I do. I'm a huge fan of comics, but I am just so sick of the "dark and gritty" thing. It makes more sense when you think of it coming from NetherRealm, but still. Ugh. The body armor costumes are pretty dumb too, but I'm guessing the classic costumes will be available too.
All that said, I still want to hear more about this. I really did like MK9 a lot. Though despite the really impressive story mode, MK vs DC Universe felt really incomplete. Hope this is more like the former rather than the latter. Hoping the roster digs a bit deeper than MK vs DC Universe did, too, which I guess it should since it doesn't have to support both franchises. Power Girl! Static! Robin! Plastic Man! They totally need to be in this.
Probably a bad time to show this, honestly. Without actual gameplay footage or anything else substantial, there's too much room for interpretation here... and given the situation surrounding the game, we all know what kind of interpretation most people are going to be doing.
