@crusader8463: You're crazy dude haha, but I have to admit there is a certain appeal to climbing a snowy mountain in Skyrim, then looking out my window and seeing an actual blizzard.

I generally like playing games with a certain amount of grinding during winter. It's nice not having to worry about school/work etc and wake up and spend the morning curled up with a coffee and a game before it's time to be productive. Diablo III, Borderlands, Dark Souls and Ni no Kuni come to mind.

I only have two. First one was Borderlands. Wasn't really all that difficult save for a little bit of grinding to reach level 50.

Second one was Dark Souls. Yup, I'm that guy.

The kid got pissed, and ending up leaving the school shortly thereafter. Probably not due at all to me, but I like to take a bit of the credit.

This, this is why I want to at least try MTG haha.

I've kind of been looking for an excuse to at least check out Magic the Gathering, and after watching the quick-look (and admittedly being super confused) I am considering picking up 2013 and dabbling in it a bit. I've always wanted to try and get into MTG and this seems like a much cheaper and easier way than picking up a bunch of cards.
Basically just wondering if this is even possible? Is it simply too late? Does the game explain MTG well enough that a completely new player can jump in?

I know it was completely irrelevant, but the way they read those downloads was easily my favourite part of the podcast at the time. Too many times I was made a fool laughing out loud in a public place listening to the bombcast because of it.

Love the GBA. Perhaps mostly because it was a big thing around the time I was traveling a lot and generally playing handheld games a lot, the GBA has been a big part of gaming for me. Could never deal with the micro, though, as my hands are somewhat on the large side and it was very uncomfortable to play, even in short bursts.  As you mentioned the pokemon games on that generation are fantastic, LoZ Minish cap is another great game as well as all of the various NES/SNES mario ports. Metroid Fusion is also amazing, and comes close to Super Metroid in gameplay and quality.. Some others I enjoyed? Off the top of my head I'd check out Golden Sun, Mario Kart, And the Mega Man Battle Network Series (I've easily spent more hours on this series than any other gaming series, consoles included).

eBay is your friend for GBA games. I used to regularly troll the GBA used shelf at gamestops but those days are long behind, at least where I am.

Just be glad we have Alex and Patrick articles. Two distinct styles, but both awesome.

I had never really though about it until this thread, but I've never ever bought a replacement controller in my life. All the way from the SNES to now I've never broken a controller.
And I beat NG+ on both Souls games :D
