I've watched the entire first season of Game of Thrones and can't help but get a "Fire Emblem feel" from the characters and plot. Did anyone else get that feeling too? Not any one specific Fire Emblem, just the general feel of the series and recurring themes.
Some specific things and stereotypes from both:
-A hinting at the past existence and future appearance of dragons (specifically the way both do this)
-The personalities of "good guys" and "bad guys"
-The story switching focus to show different perspectives and locations far apart
-The political betrayals and secret meetings/conversations
-Surprising deaths of both minor and major characters
-Big intimidating "bad guy" characters (the Mountain)
-Old combat veterans (old guy with the braided beard in Winterfell and King Robert's oldest knight)
-Barbarian hordes and those who use them as allies
Anybody notice other parallels?
I'm just talking about comparing those two directly. In conclusion, both are awesome!
PLEASE do not discuss anything that happens past this season in the HBO series! I have not read the books nor do I plan on it, please keep discussions specifically to plot events from the season 1 of the HBO series. Thanks!
