Monoprice has a <$50 audio de-embedder for HDMI. A little pricier than the TOSLINK adapter mentioned previously, but you're not tied to optical audio on either end. You can just take a single HDMI in and out, and then take your pick of audio connecters for speakers, headphones, etc.

I listen to the regular Bombcast as well. The ads themselves are sometimes entertaining, however, my issue is with the constant breaks. They ruin the flow of the conversation and just generally make the podcast worse, and unfortunately, the ad free version of the podcast doesn't alleviate this problem. I honestly wish they would limit themselves to having commercials at the beginning and/or end of the podcast, or, if they HAVE to have ads in the middle, just edit them in afterwards, don't interrupt the discussion to insert them. It's so jarring every time an interesting line of conversation is interrupted by Brad saying it's time for a break.

I personally love the idea of the ads just interrupting without the need for a segue, but that might be jarring to more casual listeners. Maybe they could edit in the segue as well, and just place ads between topics. It's a little more work for Brad, I suppose, but it would keep the ads from messing with the flow of conversation and would allow the Premium Bombcasts to also keep that flow and be unaffected.

I will always listen to the ad-supported ones though, the ads are part of the show.

If I were them, I would never eat/drink anything that wasn't in a retail package.

Seems super sketchy to just eat some random "brownies" or whatever.

I really love watching videos through iTunes via the premium video feeds, mostly because Chrome sucks the life out of my laptop when watching videos in the browser. The podcast feeds show podcasts from the very beginning, but the videos are limited to the latest dozen or so, which makes it impossible for me to go back to older videos/series (looking to finally start Metal Gear Scanlon).

Is this just a limitation in place to protect the site from users snatching every video at once, or am I missing some step on my end?

@lukeweizer: Losing it to SportsNet (Rogers) was even worse. They may have $5B, but they have the some of the worst sports coverage on Canadian TV.

@machofantastico: To be fair, it was the first Canadian-made game to have been sold on a large-scale. One could easily find older tv personalities today that would be almost as clueless about video games.

@mosespippy: The majority of the CBC audience is still old people, though not nearly as bad as back then.
