Wow points much?

So as I get back from my weekend at my friends lake house I am greeted with around 400 more points. Writing articles for Mario Kart, but most notably Backyard Baseball 2001. If you have time check that baby out...Its a masterpiece...to say the least. :) im just kidding.

Anyways if you want to know how I accumulated so many, so fast it is because of articles, coming up with concepts and objects, and then once that concept or objects gets publised, writing about it then getting alot of points.

I would probably be around 1000 if I was at home this weekend, for all the objects and concepts I came up with were published, then I could have wrote a bunch of stuff for them, getting alot of points.

Buts thats not what this site is about. Its not about who can write the most and get the most points. Its about all of us coming together, and putting together a pretty kick ass database. Now that i've thought about it I'm actually glad people filled in those pages about HD graphics, Backyard Sports, and crouching. Now when people go to reference them, there will be stuff there.

For my future plans considering writing stuff. I will write an article on backyard football. Maybe one on crouching. Defiantly one on backyard sports. I might save the big stuff for when I get to 1000, for it will be nice to know that your 1000 article wont be beat out by another user because they got their first.

Maybe Ill make it my mission to get to 1000 tonight...Idk. Well see.

Thanks for the comments on last blogs, and for those of your who edited my article. I will throw out again, I'm sure the Mario Kart 64 article has some mistakes, and the backyard baseball one too. But I'd concentrate on Mario kart for now....because well lets face it. It was a tiny bit more popular then backyard baseball.

O and if you don't know what backyard baseball is...THEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE READ MY ARTICLE!

No celebrities allowed.

A couple days ago all of my wildest dreams came true when Rich Gallup, yes THE Rich Gallup replied to one of my messages. Why does this mean so much to me? Because on Gamespot this never would have happened.

Gamespot has an absolute popularity contest. Some users I would almost consider celebrities. Alot of them wouldn't even bother to talk to low level users like me.

And thats why this place is so beautiful. I have have regular old conversations with the likes of Rich Gallup, a few of the Mods, Denis (NeoJedi), and even Brad took some time out of his busy day to answer a question of mine.

This community is so laid back, and so new, that everyone is on the same level. All the guys popular at Gamespot are just low level users like me. Guys like Denis, aren't flooded with a million pm's so they have time to actually have conversations, and maybe even meet some new people.

Which brings me back to my point of no celebrities. To become a Mod on Gamespot you had to be a high level, very established user. Most mods are good friends with an employee at Gamespot. At least the ones Ill seen. On this site Mods were picked solely out of how good of a user they were. It was not like "Hey Jeff this guy has 2000 post and 68 friends already, hed be a great mod. It was more like "Hey Jeff check this dudes blog out, he really seems like he can help the site."

Which is why this whole thing will work out. The mods aren't in it for glory. They don't feel higher then everyone else. I've talked to three mods already and they were all very happy to talk to me. Mods on this site don't get anything in return. They do it for the good of the community. And thats how it should be.

Im sorry this is very unorganized but I hope you guys get my point. Were all in this together here. No user is higher up the the fab fours eyes then another.

Thanks for reading. Ill elaborate on this more, in future blogs, once I get my ideas organized.

EDIT- My first full length article was published. Its in the Mario Tennis for n64 game page. Feel free to edit, I was never that good at grammer.

Video of the week. (1)

I decided now with this fancy embed code thing on blogs that I will do a blog every week with a video thats funny, good, doesn't really matter. Just a video I want to share. It in no way will always be related to gaming. This doesn't mean I wont add more videos in blogs, it just means they will be related to the topic at hand. So without further to do.

My video of the week. The ps3 song.

Great Success!

Well I think its safe to say that this site is a true hit. The official count right now is 12,750 and I'm sure it is growing as I speak. Jeff really outdid himself with this.

Everyone on this site is extremly nice, and there are no mean mods bossing people around. The current mods (only a few) aren't strict and don't abuse their power. I like that. The forums are a tad crazy and could use a little more help, and I'm sure the fab four and interns will find some quality users to help out.

I'm just sitting here, trying to start good topics, be nice to other users, and submit some quality info to this site. I'm taking it upon myself to help everyone out I can, even though Im not a mod. No one really knows me (at least staff and mod wise) so I don't see how my work will be recognized, but maybe at some point my work will be acknowledged.

Im not perfect though, and nobody is. So a little word of advice to all Giantbomb users. If you are frustrated with someone, don't post a nasty post. Either leave the topic immediately or post about something else. Don't abuse the whole few mod's thing. Lets keep this a good site.

So I take it Eidos won't be advertising on this site?

You can't beat 100% percent.

You cant beat 100%
You cant beat 100%

After listening to the podcast yesterday it got me thinking. Jeff mentioned how he slammed the door on a advertiser. And how they would decided who advertised on the site, not some random office guy. Well I imaged an Eidos guy going to the office and asking Jeff if they could advertise on this site. And Jeff going all kung-fu and dropkicking the door into the guys face.

Hope you guys got as good of laugh as I did thinking about it.

Changed Web Browsers, and most of my little glitches are gone.

What web browser did I change to you ask. Apple's  Safari of course. Only makes sense considering this site was created on macs, using safari.

I was using Internet Explorer 7 btw some of my glitches being.
  • Forum post not counting towards my total number. This still happens occasionally, but all I have to do is press edit then resubmit and it counts. It only doesn't work on topics i've already posted on, the edit trick works on those too though.
  • Not being able to comment on your blogs. Now that I can I'm doing my best to catch up. This one really sucked
  • When a message was hidden because of it getting a low score in the forum I was not able to see it. I now can.
  • Site seems around the same speed, but more efficient, for example you never have to click twice on anything.

Also I would like to share with you something epic. A creation by John Madden himself, TurDucken
TurDuckEn
TurDuckEn

Feast your eyes on its greatness.

Imagine the taste of turkey, duck and chicken all at once. Imagine eating it while listening to the words of wisdom of John Madden on sunday night football.

I know its amazing

Also I have an idea and Im wondering what you guys think. After tonights Podcast I was thinking about posting an overview of what the guys talked about, so we could have a little mini disscusion in my comments. Id just post some funny lines and main points. If youd be interested tell me, if not then I wont bother. I just thought it might be cool.

Welcome Gamespot Community

I really think this site alone will lead to the fall of gamespot. Most of my friends here are all gamespot members, and the only reason people are blogging on gamespot right now is to tell others about there gamespot user names.

Id just like to say Hi to all my old friends from gamespot. I really dont want to do a real blog right now because I want to explore the site.

We will have a great time on this site. And it can only grow and get better.

I am beyond excited right now

Well to put it simply, gamespot got old. I was sick of the 10 year old fanboys that roamed that site, just wait for you to bash halo. So when you did they could throw some stupid facts at you on how its the best game ever!!! (NOTE-This is the same kid that tbags and starts screaming at his mom to make him food while hes playing.)

Im looking for some good friends here so let me tell you a little bit about myself

I own a 360,wii, and ds. I would say that my primary system is the 360, by far. I dont play the ds anymore (brother does) and the wii is rarly used...due to the lack of good games.

Im an fps type guy. Enjoy the occasional RTS or sports game. Usually end up spending most of my gaming hours leveling up in a fps.

I love to talk about games. Almost as much as playing them. I plan to be an extremly active user here.

More facts to come...Im going to be short here today because I want to explore the site! Feel free to send me a friend request if you see this.
